WE need to appeal our sanctions

It's amusing to think that holding onto one's own player with illegal agreements incurs more draft sanctions than match fixing and the use of performance enhancing substances combined.
... & drugs not suitably tested as being fit for human consumption!!

You do exactly that, ride it out and wait for change. Do you hate everything about the club, the CEO, the chairman, the football opps manager, the ground, the new ground, the Westpac centre, the car park, the rest of the supporters, the majority of the players, the gurensey, the away guernsey, the website, the coaches, the game plan, the culture, the seating, many past players, our recruiting, Balfours pies?

Some will have answered yes to all of the above and I really wonder why they are here.
Because none of those things impact on who you barrack for

And what's even more ridiculous is that the AFL then have the gall to publicly state that draft pick sanctions are what hurt clubs the most, as if they are defending themselves for not having been harsher to Essendon in this regard. Where was that concern when they came up with our punishment?!

They don't lose the rights to father/son as we did correct?

So assuming this Long kid is a top 3 pick player they will receive two top three picks in 3 years assuming Daniher would have also gone top 3. Not a bad result for Essendon at all

I know we got Crouch but we had to lose Davis and another top ten pick to get him

Essendon cooperated completely unlike the Crows according to Dimetriou on 5AA which gave them a discount in punishment.

Threatening to sue is cooperating completely, whereas opening the doors to the forensic investigators is not?

10 months ago, the AFL thought differently..
"Fitzpatrick noted the full co-operation of the club in the investigation"

just heard that and almost choked on my food. If this is the case the Crows should have not allowed any AFL staff go through every file etc. What a joke excuse to justify his piss weak sanction

It very much sounds like they have looked for technicalities to get Essendon off as much as possible. From my understanding Jobe Watson says he took AOD whatever, Dimetriou has said it's a banned substance but because they "didn't set out to cheat" they are not drug cheats.

Yes - I heard that too:rolleyes:
So why then, were the Bombers tipped off that they were about to be investigated??? -If as Dimwitrio says, they completely cooperated.
He's a Prictorian corksucker.
Melbourne were fined for not Tanking
Essendon were fined for not Cheating
Crows will probably win the flag for not Playing

We clearly got a top end punishment for ours, and they got a punishment on the lower end for theirs. We let the AFL in and went along with the process without saying anything, Essendon have been going at the AFL all year. Yet somehow they are the ones who cooperated (because of a tip off) and got a discounted punishment for it, and we didn't completely cooperate with the AFL. What a joke.

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. I want you on the board.

Thanks. :)

I'm sure no-one cares, but I was actually the featured speaker at the Lions Chairman's Lunch a couple of weeks ago. I was meant to sit at his table the night of their gala auction (when he got booed after sacking Vossy) but passed, because I felt embarrassed knowing I wasn't going to bid on anything.

You forget they're just very normal, run-of-mill blokes. Take that however you want.

Fitzpatrick noted the full co-operation of the club in the investigation, its previously unblemished record, its guilty plea, the fact it voluntarily gave up its first two draft picks at the recently completed national draft, and its expressions of remorse as factors taken into account when considering the penalties.
yeah right, what a load of ****ing wank.

**** I hate the AFL.
