In all honesty I'm surprised Melbourne got rid of a couple or players, namely Buckley and Valenti.

Very happy we got him and I'm sure he will outshine Anthony Corrie with who we took late in the draft recently (last year?)

Welcome to Collingwood Bucks!

Welcome to Collingwood Buckley. Hope you can be a great player for our wonderful football club.

I was a big fan of his 2008 season, and he definitely has potential providing he remains injury free, so there is certainly some reason behind grabbing him.

I was personally shocked when he was delisted, has a huge amount of potential. Also he is only 21, glad to see him find a home. :thumbsu:

He is Melbourne's version of Jesse Smith or Sean Rusling.

Has a lot of talent, but has had a terrible run with injuries since joining the Dees.

No Melbourne supporter will say this kid can't play, but with your young list I think he was just unlucky in that the club felt they couldn't afford to keep him on the list seeing he only played 1 game this year.

A risk worth taking on our behalf, will play senior football if he can string 2-3 VFL games together.

Better then Anthony Corrie anyway.

I think he's a great addition and will see regular AFL action when his body is right.

Like others have said, a good replacement for Marty Clarke and a fitter version of Cox.

He'll back himself and provide good run of HB when Heater is shut down. He'll get good protection from team mates compared to at Melbourne with the numbers around the ball we can generate.

A real good inclusion IMO that late in the draft and a genuine ready made player.

Good Luck Bucks........WOW it's going to be good screaming Bucks out again!

Sounds easy in hindsight, but I like some other Pies and Dees fans think that Buckley has some serious upside that if we can tap into, wow what a pick by Hine, if not, well it was such a late pick dont worry about it.

But I think the plan though is to have a Bucks on the list until little Jett is ready to go.

Happy with all our picks except this one. I just can't see how he gets a game after taking Ball let alone he's an average skilled mid dumped by a rubbish side that didn't even try and win games. Just seems a bit like taking Corrie to me. Rather punt on a kid. Chance unearthing a Harry or risk wasting a late pick and turn over a dud for another chance at a Harry next year.

That said he's a Collingwood player so I hope he has a ripper year and I am wrong.

Gotta admit, I assumed we'd taken him solely for his name alone... but I'm liking what I'm hearing in this thread.

Fact is, it was a nothing pick anyway. Might as well take the risk. Nothing to lose, everything to gain.
