I'm assuming it's based solely on Didak's injury 14 years ago ...
Didak still played 20 games the following year and then played in 2012 and 2013 as well. He was less effective, but I feel fairly confident that Brody Mihocek is more diligent about his rehab than Didak would've been, and that medical science has advanced considerably in the time in between now at 2010.

I'm not concerned. I don't see it as an injury associated with finishing careers.

With a chips all in strategy, would've been disappointed if we didn't get him.

As I guessed in the Houton thread, won't be surprised if there is improvement in his game , even at 30, under the tutelage of Fly and the FD as a whole
His (Membery) highlights reel suggests he's a forward who thrives on chaos with the ball coming in fast into the forward line, loose balls off packs and stoppages.

He can find space on his own too.
I already have in my mind’s eye an image of him leading to a vacant HFF.
Soon to be hit on the chest with a 50m Houston rocket.

As I said before, people are underestimating the severity of Checkers injury.

Membrey will take his spot I believe in 2025.
Even if your terribly pessimistic view on mihocek turns out to be correct…

Membrey will be a good acquisition.

And if you’re wrong

Membrey will be a good acquisition

Just repeating what leading surgeons in America say about torn pec tendons, they never return to full strength.

Argue with them, not me.

I agree Membrey is a good pick up regardless

Call 1-800-DOKTORB the K is for Kappa!

The outlook for a torn pectoral tendon depends on the severity of the tear and whether surgery is required:

  • Minor tears
Can usually be treated with rest and a gradual return to activity within weeks.

  • Complete tears
Usually require surgery, and it can take at least 6 months to return to regular activities and a year to regain full strength.

If lil bro wants to talk about "leading surgeons in America" he would do well to provide some examples or studies. Like this one from 2007: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC2953288/

Out of 16 cases, 13 reported full strength returning.

But yeah, they "never" return to full strength.
100% of the 3 that didn't return to full strength didn't return to full strength. We should have delisted him.

I'm actually staggered there's even a handful that think he's "handy depth" so to speak

The idea of him not being in the starting 23 never even crossed my mind. I very much doubt we're picking up a 30 year old 30-35 goal full forward on a 2 year contract to be "depth".

Someone is making way. Who? No idea, but I personally am doubtful Membrey ever spends time in the VFL short of coming back from injury or something.
He’s definitely a very handy pickup but to play him ahead of mcstay and miho and Elliott WHE who both play tall and cox as second ruck forward is going to be unlikely I think unless we get injuries …
Schultz Bobby and beau as smalls also in doesn’t really leave a spot if everyone’s available
