This guy is incredible in everything apart from kicking the football.
It’s a massive task and opportunity for our coaches to develop him properly.
Between the WAFL game last week and the 14 minute, 8 disposal cameo tonight, I’ve seen enough potential to be a generational midfield talent.
I reckon the coaches need to completely reconstruct how he kicks the footy. He’s apparently relatively new to the sport so it should be possible.
Could be a future 5 time AA if he gets it right. Limitless ceiling

He was considered a great kick at underage football and also looked a very good kick at training from what I saw over the preseason. He was the youngest player drafted last year so he's going up against stronger opponents even at wafl. Give him a bit of time I have no doubt he'll be a great kick.

Came into the game as the medical sub, had 10 minutes to find his feet.
Not ideal, but tracks the ball which means when he adds size will be a Bull.
You tube Petracca’s first game and you can see a similar path.
It’s got me stuffed why we don’t play him as a medium tall, huge defensive side
and his goals would give him the confidence, settle his game.

Some of the handballs and ground ball gets are elite already and he’s probably the youngest player in the AFL.
It looked like he got permission from Jlo to just go on and hunt the footy in the last 15 min which would have been great for his confidence but probably might not happen if we were in a tight game, he might have been asked to play a more structured role.

His kicking was fine at PSA. I believe it to be a composure step up. He has played predominantly against teenagers. There may be a couple of minor technical issues that can be addressed. Looking at the first turnover that I remember last night it was a small dinky kick in the corridor. The kicking technique looked good but he kicked way too short and was under a heap of pressure.

There is no issue with him playing the majority of the season with Peel. It will help his long term development.

Same goes for Sturt, Amiss and Henry. Although I want a fully fit Sturt in the league side as soon as possible but concede that he really needs a run of WAFL games and to build further strength in his body. These guys are all early draft picks but need to develop their body and each have played a small number of games against men.

Really do like this kid but the kicking does intrigue me I think we are stuck with it as Fyfe wasnt the greatest kick either but didnt stop him being a champion.
Would love to see some type of documentary where they try and and restyle his kicking or anyone else for that matter.
Having coached juniors it is so hard to get them kicking correctly and their technique really needs to be sorted out very young maybe under 12 apart from the Irish boys who seem to be able to adapt quickly and are great kicks.
Suspect it may be from using a round ball less margin for error

and also the hands so adapting isnt hard for them.
As an experienced coach once said to me you can only improve them 10% per cent or so as seniors very hard to overhaul the technique.

I am really struggling this morning with the formatting sorry.
Yes as the pace of the game goes up technical flaws get magnified but really hoping they can get his ball drop sorted extend the arm push the scapula forward as an expert told me but tricky to communicate it.

His ability to stay in the contest, even off the ground is absolutely unreal. He just finds a way to come from nowhere to get to a ground ball. Funnily enough, the Brodie pick-up has been the biggest thing stopping him getting more game time because you can see him perfectly fitting in that role.

His kicking clearly needs work, everything is far too loose. Doesnt need to get to Chappy/Mundy level though, 2013-15 Fyfe kicking will do me. Going to be an absolute superstar

Fyfe has had very good field kicking for many seasons now. Don’t let the out of contest with four hanging off him or shots on goal cloud that. His field kicking is very sharp.

Back to Ras - he is going to be very very good.
