Give us a grading Chris... B- draft for me, maybe C+

Trade period an A-

I read next years draft isn't good for talls but that rumour comes up every year. If so, so kinda makes sense to get another

Cox 26, Pearce 29.. maybe we can develop him as a key back to partner with our other monster we got last year

What highlights are you all watching? Just saw the reel on the club website, no dropped marks or fumbles to speak of.

Handy depth for Amiss and Treacy at worst. Couple of passages reminded me of Jye in particular but not as quick as either of them to my eye.

Edit - just watched again and he's definitely not slow either.

33. CHARLIE NICHOLLS

Position:
Tall utility

Size: 197cm

Clubs: Central District/Min-Man

AFL player comparison: Harry Petty

This South Australian with vice-like hands has fans at AFL club level, mainly around his incredible pack marking ability, as well as his size and athleticism. Nicholls burst onto the scene at the start of the season, booting 13 goals from his first six SANFL Under 18s games. He then put on a breathtaking marking display against Vic Country, but was inaccurate in front of goal, finishing with 1.3 from 11 disposals and nine marks (four contested). But one of the best things for Nicholls was SA’s decision to play him behind the ball — a role he quickly adapted to, finishing with 10 disposals and six marks (four intercept) against Vic Metro. Post-champs, Nicholls had exposure at SANFL reserves level then had a strong Under 18s finals campaign with Central District. More likely to be taken on night two of the draft, possibly lower than this position.

Pearce, Cox, McDonald, Draper, Davies, Murphy and now Nicholls… yeah nah not enough KPD’s

Things can change quickly. McDonald is old and injury prone. Pearce might have 2-3 years left and also injury prone. Cox is injury prone and struggled in the absence of Pearce, and could be trade bait to clear salary cap room. Draper looks impressive, but is he a main KPD, or a third tall? Will Murphy and/or Davies make it? Unknown. Is Murphy a flight risk?

One thing which is critical for us in the search to replace Pearce is high end speed to stay with leads and close space down. Draper is pretty nimble, but the rest are fairly slow.

Looks like a KPD to me too

Omac will probably be off the list in a year so I guess it fills that gap

We have Murphy and Davies signed up til the same point (end of 26), I think Murphy is more likely to make it over Davies but I've gone cold on him compared to others. - think only one of them is on the list after 2026

I guess we can try him forward first and then move him to defense as we drop some of the KPD's off the list. (Unless he is too good as a fwd)
