I'm inclined to agree. If we'd had the Saints hand we might have taken him with one of the picks. If we just had pick seven I can't see us overlooking all the other options remaining at that point

I've heard we put decent picks on the table to move up so we could get him. I'm not sure how much higher we tried to get though. I know we tried to get ahead of WC but not sure if we tried it on with the Saints as well. Clearly we rated him considerably higher than 17

From listening to walls the other day I actually reckon he would've picked berry over him (needs basis when the difference in rankings was negligible) but we were also completely happy to stay and pick our highest rated

We probably had Berry slightly ahead of Murphy purely because he was Vic Country and may have found it easier to move across the country.

Talent wise I don't think the club saw any difference between the two.

I think he’s a decent player, if you were to redraft that year though, all of NWM, Van Rouyen and Johnson would get picked ahead of Ras, he’s probably still top 20 for me, just not top 10.
