We've got plenty of young talent developing in the b22 atm anyway. We can afford to carry a mid range draft pick in the WAFL while he gets used to the speed of the game.

I think it’s a sign of good teams when they develop players for at least 12 months in the seconds. some players will always be ready straight away, but for most development in the wafl while they grow and learn the team‘s game style are a definite advantage. Also indicative of a smaller injury list.

Need to be patient with him, playing out of position and very limited pre-season. Far too early to asses if he was drafted early, late or right where he should have been.

I feel like these days our recruiters are very good, and they obviously rate him to have traded up.

He doesn’t have to be a superstar, if he ends up picking up 20-25 touches a game in the middle at AFL level and does the defensive stuff well, competent with the ball then he will be taking pressure off the three amigos.

I’m pretty confident in our development of players these days too, and the coaching cohort, give them some time to coach him up.

I also think he is part of a really driven group of youngsters, he seems naturally driven and competitive so it’ll only help him.

The good thing about playing at half back is it gives him a chance to learn that side of the game and work on his ball use, but surely he is seen as a centre square player.

And most importantly he’s a Freo fan from way back, stick with him.

I like that he is left footed. Watching Sheed last night he’s a useful player for the Eagles and the left foot skills offer a nice point of difference to their midfield. If Nathan developed into a similar player (not unrealistic) I’d be very happy

They have wildly different write-ups as players. NOD is basically Danger on paper, if he makes the grade at AFL level he can be a lot better than Sheed.

O’Driscoll is a defensive leaning midfielder whereas Dangerfield is an attacking leaning midfielder. Big difference there.
Harsh on Danger. He can do both but they obviously think they are maximising his abilities on the attacking side.

I was referring more to his attributes. In terms of on paper, he literally has every one Danger did as a draftee.

Pace
Size
Overhead marking
Contested ball
Tacklng

I suspect his forward craft is nowhere near Danger's but I'll let that slide. If memory serves, Danger played half back a bit in juniors too.

First of many for Noddy!!!!

what's with the push into the HB role? Seems it wasn't natural for him and we have 96 of them in the club at the moment anyway. Yes, it teaches them to defend and be two way, but seriously, what is this club's fear of anything focused on the F50? Even our big forwards spend hardly any time in there

Yes , now we are getting somewhere

Is that what the article says? I cant read it. I'd hope he's playing on a wing this weekend
