Well that article explains everything. Sounds like it’s insurance in case we want to use Nash as opposed to wanting him to play this week.
Except listing both Nash and Glass as Cat B rookies seems incorrect

I think they had to upgrade Glass to a Cat A rookie when they brought in Nash: http://www.afl.com.au/afl-hq/the-afl-explained/rookie-players

"Clubs can now list one Irish player as a Category B rookie but for each additional Irish player rookie listed, that player will be deemed to be a Category A rookie and the club will forfeit its last selection in the Rookie Draft for each additional player listed."

Just to note, they played Nasher on the wing in the VFL last game. I'm not going to get ahead of myself but imagine having a 198cm wingman spreading forward to make and kick goals, and flooding back to fill gaps in defense. New strategy? He did get top 3 in one of our 2km time trials in the off season.

Would be great.
They've thrown in him a number of roles (FB, CHB, FF, CHF and now wing). Perhaps just an education.

Bloody hell you forget how good Richo was playing that role in his last few years, he was immense. I was barracking like a madman for him to get that Brownlow he narrowly lost.

I’d say part of that is for his development. They probably want him as a forward that pushes up and down the ground. But when you are the down the line option you probably don’t focus enough on making space to get the footy. Playing him on the wing should focus him on getting the footy and help transition the ball as opposed to being a long target.

Anyone know if he is still 198cm, or is he still growing

He looks like a midfielder. Only one who didn't pick up the game till recently.
Speed, power, agility dare to dream of him as a midfielder with Bruce calling Nash! Nash! Naaaaaaaash!

If he can pick up the game, and make a place for himself there, it would be incredible. We haven't had a big bodied crash and bash midfielder with breakaway speed pretty much ever. Rough has been in there a bit, a couple of our guys such as Lewis and Howe were bigger bodied, but none had that package of raw talent.

The only thing counting against him is how late he came to the game. But there are always exceptions, so why not dream I say.

Wouldn't get my hopes up with him being Cripps-like, but Richo circa 2008 on the wing isn't beyond him.

Hilarious if he kicks it to a small forward line

Nash and Glass played on either wing and between them, had less than 28 touches...

Would far rather see Nash groomed as a FB and Glass as a HBFer...

Maybe they are both being taught how to build on their defensive sides and go forward.

How does Nash read the game? That's always the barrier for guys

who have come to footy late. Even Trent Croad, who became a very good full back towards the end of his career, was regarded as an athlete playing football for a good portion of his career.

Similar skillset to Nash by the looks of things - big, quick athletic beast, with a non-AFL background.

All part of their education. I am excited what both these lads can bring to the club, but I have been wrong in the past, so I really hope both can step up and become long term Hawks.
