The main thing that cooked us and Mass are the ground dimensions at Adelaide oval. We struggled at all three narrow grounds we played at.

I also think it didn't help that Geelong used a game plan that is pretty close to ours the week before so Port were never going to lose to it twice and could plan how to stop it, with what went right and what didn't.

I think it was perhaps that, combined with Port playing for the narrative that they weren't a crap club who doesn't turn up in finals.

Don't discount the blowtorch that had been held to their feet since their loss to Geelong.

They were swimming in shame and scorn all week, and came out hulked up.

Agree that the ground did not help however.

Perhaps this season we experiment with a plan to get Amon back onto other wing, and then have them both pushing deep back to help out. I think Amon had been tagged once or more prior to 2024, but either way no-one will be able to tag both.

Those two would be a nightmare proposition on the wings for opposition. If we find someone capable of generating the drive out of the back half that Amon did in 2024, we're going to kick some big scores in 2025.
