I'd assume he'd get that or some other seat upgrade regardless.

I'm just thinking from the perspective that he's only played half a game in the last 2.5 months due to hamstring soreness and chronic knee pain. The West Coast game is Sunday twilight and then we've got to make the flight back and prepare for the Geelong game down in Geelong off a 6 day break. I'm no expert on the effects of a 3.5 hour flight on an athlete's recovery but I'm sure it's far from ideal for a player in this context - but perhaps as a once off it's negligible?

The only reason I see to play him against the Eagles is if he comes back from the bye and trains every session without issue and the club thinks it's important for him to build some cohesion with the other forwards ahead of the Cats game.

I'll be happy to see him named and play against the Eagles. I'll just be surprised and nervous as I see a lot more downside than upside.

Apologies I should have used orange font. Tend to agree with you that a game in Perth with a 6ish day recovery heading into the Geelong game might t be ideal.

Feel like Lewis should play the WA game on the bigger ground so he doesn't cause spacing issues with the other forwards, and then give him a rest and get Gunners back for his smarts on that ugly small stupid kidney shaped ground in Geelong.

I have no doubt that Lewis will be back in the side at some stage. I do think though, that he has been absent for 8 weeks, that he does need to spend at least 2-3 weeks playing for box hill in getting himself game fit. A part of that criteria should be able to complete a full game without any discomfort. At the moment we are blessed, as we have players playing for Boxhill, that could easily be in our side, but can’t get a look in, due to the strength our current best 22 are showing. It’s a great position to be in.

Hey guys - just wanted to point out I believe Lewis has dropped a couple kgs. Someone said he looked lighter recently and he definitely does, doubt this plays much effect to his contest and pack work or even his grappling and wrestling stuff as he’d still be close to the 100kg mark.

With the knee issue he has, especially at essentially 6’6 and 100kg, he is going to struggle, the weight going through his knee and the stress it puts on. Him dropping a couple kgs, although minor and likely not making much difference to his game, will make his body much more durable and likely will move better because of it, this has been the case with people I know with the same issues, and other examples.

Mitch Lewis (One goal, eight disposals, four marks, four score involvements)

“It was a great return from Mitch Lewis. We were rapt to have him back out there. He's a premiership player at Box Hill and he really values the program. Mitch, CJ (Changkuoth Jiath) and Dylan Moore are the three players who really talk up the Box Hill program for helping start their careers and they're all premiership players in the program. Mitch was great and his leadership was exceptional. He really brought into our program and I didn’t expect anything else from him. It was just really nice for him to hit the scoreboard and to hit bodies again, there was no expectation. He was really disappointed he could only play a half because he was feeling really good but to his credit, he stayed on the bench and helped coach our young forwards after half-time. It’s great for our supporters to hear that he got through the game really positively and hopefully now, he can really bounce after the bye and we can see some really consistent footy.”

Big write up this week, bigger than most & good to hear he felt good, and wanted to play more, great signs for his body.

Just saw this, was funny but Meek's sales pitch was cringe AF! You can't go in talking about Meek Monday, half the membership base wouldn't have any idea what that is.
I try to keep up to speed with a lot of stuff...but I've got no idea what it is...

EDIT 1:No, I don't Insta either...it's RUBBISH!

EDIT 2: GET OFF MY LAWN!!!

Edit 2 is projected as the most popular statement when Trump gets re-elected

Yes I’d imagine he’s in next week. I was hoping he’d really dominate a game at VFL but Dear’s injury makes in near certain he returns now. Hopefully we get the 2023 version and not the first few weeks of 2024 version. Could make a big difference to the back end of the season if he gets his confidence up

A - he wasn’t going to dominate especially this week in the wet, it wasn’t important for him to “dominate” rather show his match fitness and game readiness. Which he did, whilst playing well.

B - he played injured in the first few games of 2024, was clearly not moving well, was moving well in the VFL game.

C - he will play 100%, and was always going to.

Reakon Mitch would be absolutely chomping at the bit to be back in with the lads and this awesome atmosphere on field; throw in the chance to take down the Cats in Geelong too!

Can't wait to have him back out there with Air Chol and our reinvented defensive forward Mr. Gunston
