That is a young player with confidence.
Richmond did a number on him with development & mental health as the whipping boy.
Next season we will see a different player to the one we signed up; I am convinced of that.
Time will tell

Next season he is even less likely to get a game lets be honest, Ceglar will also be back healthy.

Guys, on pretty good authority I have been told that it has been communicated to Ty that he will not be playing senior footy again this season unless there is an emergency. Clarko has decided to go with the kids.
Thanks CK.

Do you know if he has been given specific things to work on or parts of his game that he needs to improve etc.?

No, I have no information on that but am pretty comfortable with the information given to me re: Ty's playing status.

It is an interesting one. Vickery was brought in as insurance for Roughead (not Ceglar as many thought). Clearly Clarko has trialled playing them both in the same team (as he should) without success. The recall of Schoenmakers is quite telling here and a clear signal as to which direction Clarko is taking the team. Not that this guarantees Schoey anything but if Clarko is making the call that he offers us more than Ty then I would think Ty will sit at Box Hill as backup until his contract expires. Timmy O is obviously going to have as many games pumped into him as possible now which sets Ty even further down the pecking order.

It certainly seems that they would rather gets games into TO and Schoey.

Terrible decision by the club to recruit him. You dont pay $500k a year for insurance.

With Cegs and McEvoy hopefully up and about next year, expect Ty wont be getting a game then either.

We should pay out his contract and use the extra spot to draft another KPP kid.

We will lose a bit of height this year with Surman gone and Fitzy also likely.

You keep him as contracted for 2018 but then you let him go.

Interestingly Tom Boyd is sidelined with mental health issues now, not long after Cloke. Big pressure/expectation with the big bucks. I get the impression Ty is not in love with the game. He does not look switched on mentally. Hopefully he can just try and enjoy his footy for the rest of the year and see what next season brings.

Unfortunately it hasn't worked out for Ty but it's not like we recruited someone who's been disruptive off the field and isn't committed to the team. The long and short of it is that Vickery isn't quite afl standard, his skill set is simply too narrow to be a consistent contributor.
If anyone should be questioned it's our list management staff as his output has been what most of us on here were expecting when he was given a contract.

True. Almost every Tiger supporter had a similar view of his ability. Hard to believe they all have no idea ;). Surprised Dimma and Clarko did not share some 'goodwill' info on this one. Maybe they did?

To be fair most people thought Lake was cooked when we got him and that Hale was not a viable solution either. Each played massive roles in the "threepeat."

You win some and you lose some.

Was not meaning to come across as having a dig at the process/method behind getting Vickery to the club. With the Rough/Ceglar situations it is not hard to see why the HFC had a crack. At the start of the year I was hopeful a change of scenery might be all it took for Ty to realise the potential the club obviously saw in him. Maybe next year.

Not at all mate, and I didn't take it that way.

His best is good enough though, which shows he can do it. He's an ok mark and at 200cm, it makes him a pretty sound mark. He's also a very good shot for goal.

For mine, he just does not seem to work hard enough or be desperate enough. If he had McEvoy's heart, Ty would be a good player.
