Richmond
(Insert other club beside Richmond) welcomes Sam Davidson to their club. Davidson who was selected at pick 40, comes out of the thoroughbred breeding ground factory aka Punt Rd. Magoos. He joins a long list of players drafted out of there including top 3 Bombers BnF 2024 Sam Durham, Maximumus Dambrojo, Adam Saad, Garrett McDonagh. Previously the Tiges were hamstrung losing majority of players to parasitic tics the Bummers because they were much lower on the ladder.

In the case of Saad, they just didn't rate him. And Davidson, it's a mystery as they were 2nd last, had 4 list spots in the msd, but ultimately only selected 2 players. The lauded selection of 1st game premiership hero Marlion Pickett has become a foggy daze. Complacency and over consumption of bathwater, has seen the Tiges select Bradtke over Squinton Narkle then failing to play the portly plodding tiny KPF even once despite having zero KPF stocks. Another selection Coulthard who was kicking the dew off suburban ovals a month before getting picked up. He kinda did 3 good things in his debut quarter before fading into obscurity.

Bauer another shortish KPF played for 1 minute and had 2 touches before the Punt Rd slasher took out his Hammy and maybe played another 2 or 3 games but nobody besides his family would remember. Bizarrely he's contracted to 2025, considering in 2.5 years he's basically been a blur. Strangely Davidson was kicking bags of goals left, right and centre in a team devoid of anything resembling a midfielder as all were injured, but Richmond just didn't rate him. He wasn't a "scrawny HBF type" was the reason an unnamed source provided for the club not selecting him. Here's wishing Davidson well at his new club.

In other news the Tigers have promoted Marty Colina to the seniors list and given him a 3 year extension. According to AFL tables he has taken the exact same number of contested marks as Samson Ryan in the seniors side in his 4 years at Punt Rd.

Let's just bookmark this then. According to RPB Sam Davidson is a nailed on needle mover at AFL level.

Aren't you the one who constantly whinges about Mate Colina costing about $100k out of our cap? If so, shouldn't you be deliriously happy when we save $50k for half a season by not taking as many players as we are entitled to in the MSD?

If the club is keen on Davidson they will be all over whether other clubs will be interested in him, and they would simply be able to draft him with a late draft pick if they wanted to go that way. If they don't rate him worthy of a list spot then they shouldn't put him on the list, simple as that.

There's literally half a dozen blokes on the VFL list I'd draft/rookie befure Davidud - Garner, El Nour, Yassine, Scott, George and even Brindley....
