Love how some posters only appear after a bad loss. Last few weeks while we were playing alright footy, they were nowhere to be seen. I’m sure they were just busy 🤔

And i love how some posters like to write things like

"love how SOME posters only appear after a bad loss".

WHO exactly? And what, to you, is the appropriate amount of time to spend here when you feel like you have nothing particular worth saying?

Makes sense to me that some people might only come here when there is.... something worth saying/discussing? Coming here ALL THE TIME for the sake of it seems feeble

He is entitled to his opinion. I think you get what he is saying. It's pretty straight forward.

Sharpen up.

I get the frustration especially with our seasoned players.

But no use hammering the kids with under 50 games (and new coach) which the majority of that part time poster cohort seem to be relentlessly locked in on.

You’re kidding right?

Short has been disgusting this season, played 1 good game vs crows

rest has been diabolical
Short's playing half back his job is to kick from deep in defence. Easy. Rioli provides run.

The Suns game they picked the ball off. We lacked marking options down the line. Still do.

Cumbo small fwd, way harder position to play, just got to take half chances. He is not doing that. We have so much small fwd depth. I wish we could make Combo a marking target. .

I think we lose 3 of the small fwds.

What u mean? That’s exactly what he did vs Adelaide and the week before

He just a shocker this week

Tactics last night were just dreadful, slow ball movement won’t get you to finals

To be fair I think a lot of our slow ball movement was due to Hawks structure and ability to play their game plan.
We were out played by a team in a hot streak and in better shape due to injury through the year and a few years further down the rebuild track than we are.
So disappointing how it panned out for Dusty's 300th, but we were still in the game until Kozi missed a sitter and it was run up the other end for a Chol goal.
That killed us for the rest of the game.
I think the Hawks made a few tweaks at half time also and the game opened up for them in the third. That comes down to some better coaching and our players couldn't respond.
There are some bad signs, but I think that's more around our lack of depth and that's not on Yze.
I really think there is some short term memory going on to. We all remember Dimma of the last 6-7 years, he didn't look like a 3 times Premiership coach in his first few years.
I just wish a few on here would put the pitch forks and torches away for the year, maybe get them out in 12 months if nothing much has changed.

does anyone else fear yze doesn't have the personality and charisma to be a great afl coach. He always seems to repeat the same cliches and comes across a bit mundane. Whether as the great coaches are big characters and ability to lead a group, it's still early days but just early thoughts. Is yze too boring to be great?

Just watching Yze in the rooms talking to the boys after the game and Dusty's 300th. Dimma was like 1000 times more articulate. Not sure how much that makes a difference getting a side to perform but it was pretty stark

Need an EY consultant to get a rocket up him

ATM he’s not great and is boring. I’ve been underwhelmed with him and there’s nothing he’s done or said so far that’s impressed me. It got off on the wrong track the minute he tried Balta forward in which I didn’t mind and then he kept at it for too long. Then his matchups are puzzling, choice of sub and activating it, too slow to react with changes on game day and allowing game to be gone before he actually makes a move , memory lapses in pressers and constantly selecting senior players out of form over in form kids . Only dropped one senior player all year who has come back better , but still hasn’t clicked to do it to others. Game plan is U10 style with no tweaks. He’s a slow learner from what he’s shown, a copycat as he seems to be a mini mini and bc of all of the above he has set a low bar and is at risk of probably seeing two years at most.

It wasn’t too bad, but can kinda see what you mean.

Remember youre comparing a first year coach to a guy who had been doing it 10+ years. Pull up a random video from Dimma 10 games in and its probably similar.

Very few people are born natural communicators, its something that comes with time and practise.

I think we forget that dimma struggled for 7 seasons and it took caracella to change the way he wanted to play

Not sure on Yze at the moment but it takes time to build meaningful relationships, as it took Dimma.

I think Yze is genuine in his care, the younger guys would appreciate this...the old guys would be loyal to Dimma, hard to shake that off.

He needs to find a way forward though and I think he will.

Yes and I would take ‘lucky’ Chol over most of our blokes right now, especially our forwards.

Well, reward the young blokes he cares about and get rid of the Hardwick-loyal rabble feathering their nest!

He comes across as soft, unsure and intimidated. Seems like a nice guy tho. Doesn't really reek of confidence tbh

As i've said in another post tho - don't forget that the club took nearly 5 months before it settled on a replacement.

We only picked him from the options that were available, which was a very small, inexperienced, frankly underwhelming bunch.

Mini. X-Clarke we touted as his biggest rivals. I said it at the time, i strongly doubt our next coach will be the coach we need, its the next hire we need be always on the lockout for.

I feel like Adem needs to really sort out the path he is taking this club on and start endorsing that in his pressers, messages etc. At the moment i feel like he is stuck between doing right by the old guys and trying to empower a young core.

His onfield coaching has been acceptable, although not eye-catching. Its more his pressers and the eye test stuff that has me starting to get concerned. He hasn't screamed " strong leader" so far and with our complete lack of leaders since Cotch, Dimma, Balme, Peggy, Rance, Houli. Jack .... all left the club, what we needed most from our new coach was strong leadership.

So far he has not been able to provide that, and to make matters worse, Benny Gale has vanished and appears somewhat broken when he does appear. Who is our strongest leader right now? To be frank, the ship feels rudderless atm. Thats what scares me.

The decision to move Balme on prematurely feels worse under this light, however I think his departure might have more to do with some personal politics between Neil and Adem (feel Neil was not his biggest advocate) which most likely made it untenable.

As things currently sit though, i'd think having a guy like Neil around to face the media and offer some sage advice could have been somewhat useful, even if he is an old-ditty scallywag as some suggested

Media-wise? Adem has had no help. It's been a pretty poor effort by the club to get around him and take the load off

Watched him on the Front Bar, Yze was fine. I have no problem, with his communication style. Don't need anyone to tell us we have been injury affected for a 2nd year. Now 17th, 18th if North weren't robbed.

Dimma, Mini and Yze have selected half a dozen players, I thought should be in the VFL. The Dees have no problem with senior players in their VFL team, finding form . FFS KMac finally getting dropped is a miracle.

The club's getting too much wrong.

Retiring players has been difficult recently, with crap results and injuries I hope this speeds up. Asst coaches too.
