Not sure if this has been mentioned before but I'm in awe how he regularly cleans up other team mates' mistakes, fumbles and poor hand passes and then turns them into positives. And this from a 19 year old!
I also love it when he makes a mistake (rarely) and then acts like a man possessed until he's fixed it up.

That passage of play where he beat 3 eagles defenders and just sped off was elite ! Also his pick up, spin and handball to boyd in defensive 50 was elite also !

Heard a Collingwood supporter at the game telling his Doggie mates how the Pies were really into him & would have drafted him if we didn't. I've heard this several times from Collingwood supporters now and it's always in the tone of that guy who dated the super model back in high school but broke up with her just before she got into modelling...

This is true 100%. Collingwood were very keen to trade up to pick 6 to land him, were very sold on him before he really entered the top 10 caclulations a month out from the draft, and Bonts was a Pies supporter until he was drafted. They ended up with Scharenberg who is yet to play a game.

All true, except that Bonts barracked for Richmond.

Yeah the Pies were always into Bont, it was heavily publicised in the weeks leading up to the draft.

Some of the conspiracy theories on the Pies board make for enjoyable reading. Apparently we only became interested in Bont because the media made Collingwood's interest public, and we therefore "stole" him from them. :$

Must have heard that wrong then.
I wasn't sure beforehand, I didn't get the impression that he was a diehard though.

He mentioned it on Triple M last week though, said he didn't see too much of Koutoufides having been a Richmond supporter (I heard this after an hour of a shellshocked Ben McDevitt threatening that 'dis ain't ova', Brayshaw dribbling over Bernie Vince's shoes, and various ads aimed at the lowest common denominator).

Sorry, I mean that I must have heard it wrong. Sorry, context is key.

I'm sure they moved up to 6 cause they thought we were going to take Aish and GC take KK, it just seemed logical that he would be there at 6. I wonder if when after we took the Bont, Hine regretted making that move, it would be interesting to know how much of a drop off there was from Bont to the Shazzenberger, my guess it would be something like 2 to 6 or 2 to 5. Certainly if they made that move with the thought of taking Bont they must have really really liked him.
