My bet is the Hawks will go after the Bont and Toyd this week.

A bloke on YouTube has made a highlights video of every Bontempelli possession and tackle from the West Coast game, hope he does this every week !
Think recently Cameron made it in his second season.Would Bontempelli be the youngest ever All-Australian if he were to make the All-Australian team?

Good Trivia question though and I think 3NP could be right.Wingard did as well
Wingard made it two years ago, so would have been 20yrs 2 months (born in 93).Good Trivia question though and I think NP could be right.
If Bont makes it this year then at time some of selection
Wingard: 21yrs 2 months
Cameron: 20yrs 5 months
THE BONT: 19 years 9 months
My bad. Will editWingard made it two years ago, so would have been 20yrs 2 months (born in 93).
Cameron was a pre-listed GWS player which means that he had a Jan-April birthday. Bontempelli doesn't turn 20 until the end of November.Good Trivia question though and I think 3NP could be right.

That's right. As you predicted, The Bont will be the youngest of the three I've mentioned if selected. Could be other contenders I'm unaware of.Cameron was a pre-listed GWS player which means that he had a Jan-April birthday. Bontempelli doesn't turn 20 until the end of November.
The All-Australian in its current form (a team of the year rather than the best team of an interstate carnival) has existed since 1991. I'm almost certain that a first-year player has never made the All-Australian team in this time, and unless any of the second-year players has a December or very late November birthday, Bontempelli could be the youngest All-Australian in the AFL era. That's right. Will be a point of interest come selection time if he continues the upward trajectory through the season. Seems to be one of those players that transcend club biases and universally respected. The All-Australian in its current form (a team of the year rather than the best team of an interstate carnival) has existed since 1991. Fair point, but it's not too unrealistic. He's probably already on 4 or 5 Brownlow votes and probably the best player in the comp maybe bar Fyfe over the first two rounds. Pretty good chance to make the team.Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves here. If he made the 40 man squad I'd be just as wrapped. Hard task fitting in a midfield amongst an AA side.
Pretty and young? This is scary but I remember John Rantall of South Melbourne getting picked to play for the Vics in his first season (1963) at the age of 19 and a 1/2. That was a pretty rare feat. Not sure if anyone else did it. (I was a pretty young tacker, but for some reason that one stuck in my mind.) They didn't have an All-Australian team every year in those days so playing for the big V was about as high as you could go.
It's fair to say if His Bontness gets an AA gong as a 19yo he's in pretty select company.
Ummmm ... actually, maybe not. He might be on his own.
Pretty is not an adjective that has ever been used to describe me, as far as I can remember.Pretty and young?
Ambiguity is such an enjoyable part of my existence here DW. I look for it everywherePretty is not an adjective that has ever been used to describe me, as far as I can remember.
So ... no. It's used in its adverbial sense here.
But I'm getting a bit worried about you, NW ...
That would make Bontempelli the second youngest either than Ben Hart.I asked Patrick Keane and he said that Ben Hart was 18 when named. 19 year olds include Wingard, Bradley, M Harvey, and Ricciuto.

The word is he just had a corky.Sorry for the intrusion, but does anyone know if there's truth to the rumour that he's got an injured calf?
Quickly becoming my favourite non-Carlton player.
On a side note my brother spoke with McCartney in the rooms after the game about Bontempelli.
From Macca "We just wanted to rest Bontempelli today. We're pretty excited about him as hes going to be a superstar. Will be better than Macrae."
Some big wraps. Excited to see the kid debut
