I don't think any port 'supporters' are happy about the result. Don't kid yourself.

"Honourable defeat of the club or Guernsy can only come after human endeavour on the playing filed is exhausted"

This was not the case Thursday night. Nor was it GF day.

Have a whinge why don't you? How often have we seen a Port Adelaide supporter post in this thread with some variation of "If we kicked straight in the last quarter, we'd have won".

Don't see you cracking the sads over that though. Is that because you feel the same way? Seems like a similar offence to the one you think I'm guilty of, yet that seems perfectly reasonable to you. Talk about hypocrisy and double standards.

what a load of crap - read the title of this thread did ya? no mate, you're on here crapping on about how the game should have been well & truly over by half time - well here's a news flash - it wasnt, was it? your team wasnt good enough to ensure that it was, & as aresult we almost took it from you - sugar coat it any way you want mate, your comments still reek of narrow minded stupidity

Mate, I think ur missing the point of what Winty is trying to say. Numerous Port fans have said n this thread and others that they should and would have won the game if they had kicked straight in the last quarter. What we are saying that on the other side of the coin, if the Cats hadve kicked straight in the first half, the game wouldnt have been there for Port to win in the last...

having revisited the game, i think it was actually a mini-choke by port as i origionally didnt see the first half. To come out and not play/ have stage fright is a trademark of mark william's teams it seems :)

Wanna try it was Round 1/GF ReMatch nerves? Once the players got over the nerves, they started playing good footy. We just werent good enough to win. Losing on Thursday night was unacceptable.

well, 9 points down towards the end of the game - it was truly there for the taking - theres no doubt about that. winty's idea about the 4 posters or what ever it was in the first half, doesnt quite stack up - its irrelevant - who is to know if port would have rattled on 5 goals if one of winty's were in fact converted?

but if you're 9 points down however, 3 minutes left on the clock - that's a different story - a goal & its 3 points down & its certain that it's anyone's for the taking in fact & port supporters can lament those lost chances - thats the difference.

this is a thread about how well port came back, not about "how generous" geelong were in the first half - so OT im happy with the way we fought back, shitted we lost, but thats just the way it goes & i dont thank geelong for any of "winty's posters".

And how do you know if you kicked a goal and it went back to the middle, the Cats wouldn't have laid on a couple of quick ones, increasing the margain beyond what it turned out to be? Personally I couldn't care less; Cats won, Port loss, I am not the type of person to analyse a firsty round game. However, you just seem to be a bit hypocritical in your arguments there.

Bock is primarily a defender. Forward line is the only place Motlop can play, according to Chocko at least.

So he can hit a target lace out, but cant kick a straight forward goal. If you want to say Motlop or any other player for that matter choked, you would have to say Bock's shocker was a choke.

Although personally i think all this choking talk is utter rubbish.

has lost any meaning to hurt...

Kinda weird how a player can hit a nother player on the run lace out, but miss set shots. Look at Nick Gill.

My original comment was toungue in cheek. Reading the Port board a few people want Motlop to play in the midfield, yet Chocko has him "boxed" in as a forward.

This was exactly my point, its a trademark of mark williams' teams throughout the years. Its partly mental/cultural but also probably due to the uncontested style of footy you guys play.

thats the thing mate, i dont.

but i do know that when its that close at the death, players tired, different intensity with a result right there for the taking, anything can happen.

but im not crapping on about 4 posters & how the game would have been beyond port's reach well before half time.... blah blah blah.......

yes, cats won, port lost - great game.
