Are you being serious? You’re basically saying that unless you can map out the Head Chef’s day you can’t comment about their efficacy when your steak is continually delivered burnt to a crisp when asked for medium rare. I don’t need to know how many sugars Burton has in his coffee or whether he gets it at the club or on the way to work to know that he’s RESPONSIBLE for a dysfunctional football department. It’s really a very simple concept to grasp and one I’m sure that you actually do. Why are you arguing against your own understanding?

why do people believe that no matter how ill informed or ignorant they are their opinion is valid?

I’m happy to say I don’t have enough information to have a valid opinion. I’m not saying he is good at his job. I’m just saying I’m not so full on my own self-worth and ego that I’m going to shout an opinion no matter how ignorant or ill informed.

If you are so clued on, how about you explain to me where and how Burton has failed in his duties and responsibilities. And try and make it a little more nuance than “Crows football bad = Burton bad”, or “crows did camp, camp bad”.

How about you outline the specific deficiencies to show you know what you’re talking about. I’m simply saying if you want to criticise then do it for well founded reasons that you can articulate.

Dear God, how do we have Burton apologists here?

The premise that you can't judge Burton, head of football, by how we are playing football is a flawed one.
This is an outcomes-based business, you win or you lose. With burton as head of football our program, we have gone from minor premiers, Grand finalists to catastrophic seasons and external reviews. The bloke has passion fingers.
His day to day is irrelevant. That's process over outcome. Working hard over working smart is the wonderland of the inept and unimaginative but diligent and driven. It's Van Berlo over Vince. Safety over excellence.

Yet the man that gets paid the big bucks and is responsible for the entire club as a whole seems to be flying under the radar

Most organisations would have him gone first as he is responsible for the lot
