Beagles team ?

B: Grego - Bazzo - Cole
HB: Chesser - Jamieson - Rawlinson
CC: Petrucelle - Davis - Hall
HF: - Johnson - J. Williams - Brockman
F: Champion - A.Reid - Dewar
Foll: Flynn - Gross - Allan
INT: Livingstone - Sheed - Barnett - Hunt
Teams like this are silly. We are not going to have 44 fit players for the entire year. We will always have around 8 or so ??? in that lot .

When we try to put that ??? of 8 players into the team is when it gets scary bad

We have 43 on our list, eventually 44

We need 23 players for AFL on any given weekend plus one player is normally held out as a traveller/emergency

Means that with no injuries we can play a maximum of 20 in the WAFL side. You’ve named 22

Availability is key to the Beagles being competitive- anywhere from 12-15 gives us a chance bearing in mind most of that group are likely to be 18-21 year olds

Losing Ruscoe is a blow but he’s one player. Nelson would’ve been handy but he didn’t play a single game last year so his absence doesn’t weaken us in comparison to last year. Gilbee was pretty average and won’t really be missed

Hopefully Sheed gets over his foot injury and he can replicate the role Gaff played for the WAFL side

With young players pushing up we might also see some more senior players having to put a shift or two in playing for the Beagles - guys like Petruccelle, Chesser and maybe the likes of Hunt, Cole or even Cripps might be demoted if they’re not in form

Last year Flynn, Bazzo, Hewett, Jamieson Archer Reid and Brockman among others missed big chunks of footy. Getting them playing regularly footy will help

That said, we need also need to somehow get 3-4 experienced WAFL plate to help buffer the side when injuries do hit
The perfect scenario like above isnt even close to a acceptable outcome though :( . We geniunely need 8 more version of Trey Ruscoe and instead we lost the only 1 we had.

This will get worse before it gets better next year........ Sad but likely to be true

in my time the WAFL affiliate would provide training and resources to the coaches of the junior teams, along with umpires/logistics for all the fixtures. they were basically the governing body. assume it is somewhat similar today.

I don't doubt you but they are essentially invisible to the average parent who takes their kid to footy and more importantly the vast, vast majority of the kids playing footy. Completely miss leveraging a captive market IMO.

if you rock up for 2 hours a weekend I can definitely see that yeah, but to the coaches and volunteers they are definitely not invisible (for better or for worse...)

worth keeping in mind a lot of these community programs are run by like 1-2 blokes max on average salaries employed by the WAFL club

Surely Perth just fold and become our alignment club
As a result of a recent amendment to the constitution that requires a resolution of the members at a special general meeting. I understand that this amendment was made as a mechanism through which the members can prevent an alignment.

Mark Stone who now coaches Perth on 6PR saying they’re announcing a new signing tomorrow but didn’t say who

Did say it was an AFL premiership player with 130 games experience

Brandon Parfitt equals that description

Port while doing better than us are hardly setting the world on fire with their signings. A few Father Sons who went undrafted, a decent signing from another SANFL club and resigning this bloke.

I’d take happily take Culley and Witherden returning atm.

Probably depends on what perks Port Power offers these guys compared to us.

If we can't align with Perth or we can't get a full WAFL club with Colts and Reserves or we can't join the VFL, then our only real option is the farm the players back out.

Yes, this will mean we're the only club doing that. At the point where I can't see how that matters giving the raging trashfire surrounding this ****ed up, half arsed WAFL abortion.

Fire This Is Fine GIF

Yes we won't tell your boss you were googling "Hardie Bonner" at work otherwise they might think it was a typo and make the situation even worse
