Its not taking the game on more lack of vision and the intensity of the game .
I'm happy to keep trew on the rookie list .
The kid doesn't leave anything on the field .

But I hope we get at least 2 midfielders in this draft that will have more translatable afl qualities.

Not sure how many picks we have but i would be happy with all but one of them being midfielders in the next draft. We are woefully undermanned in this area if we get a few injuries.

More money being a ringer in a country team and you dont have to train if you are good

Witherden such a great kick, would like to see him back in the side.

Williams looked great, must be in the minds of the selectors but think he's probably one tall too many.

Brander was okay for the first 3 quarters then just disappeared.

Trew with a lot of work to do, was hoping for a bit more of a showing from him.

People are very impatient. One bad game and they apparently are not good enough. We wouldnt have many eagles on our list if we judged all the same.

Thought Brander did some nice things in the midfield in the last quarter. At that level he does look like a great inside player. He does need a but more size and development if he stays

Not writing Trew off at all. However he probably had the strongest midfield he's ever going to have around him for the Beagles and he didn't dig in a great deal. Lots of time on his side though obviously.

I think many had unrealistic expectations of Trew.

He's played 10 or so games of WAFL seniors........in a dreadful team. He's got things to improve, but every player does.

Still, averaging 18 touches and laying a lot of tackles is a good platform to build on.

I think Trew has a lot more scope for improvement than O'Neill.

I hope so because he is well behind O'Neill atm in being a player at afl level .

I don't think O'Neill is rated that highly by Simmo and co.

Wasn't he a really late re-signing last year after the obligatory 2 year deal? And only a one year deal too.

He's probably trade bait tbh.

If a player is getting holding the ball, they are trying to take the game on. I applaud that. Just needs to grow a mans body and he will be breaking those tackles.

I have been hoping this regarding both Nelson and Duggan and for the last few years and to date, it still hasn't happened

I dont remember Duggan getting caught much but definitely Nelson still needs to improve. I defended him before the Richmond game saying he has improved on not getting holding the ball but he let me down last week.

Poor old Duggan keep taking on the tackler, and keeps on failing to break them

I have actually nicknamed him Buster because of this reason, I have yet to see him actually bust one.

Still, the guy keeps trying.......

To be fair gaff completely sold Nelson up the river on that holding the ball.
Gaff did the same to sheed I think in the last quarter too.

100% agree on that one. Def Gaff's fault that holding the ball. Still, Nelson needs to do a bit better when he gets caught.

Yeah he never gets his hands free . Always gets pinned and then drops it .

Yeah he always tries to dispose of it while hes tackled and it ends in a dropped, holding the ball.

Yeah as I said last week when i defended him. He has been far better this year. Last year I reckon he got holding the ball on most occasions he took possession. He was always trying to fend off and would get caught.
