Just got home from my 40th celebrations at Mandoon. Absolutely shit-faced and the screen be swimming. Gotta sayso far it looks like my man Godfather32 is best on ground so far.

you are an A grade idiot nit-picking my comments out of context. you are a piece of work first-class troll. I bet you are a teenager I hope you'r not an adult cuz you need an uppercut.
correction, regardless of your age, just give yourself an uppercut.

HoneyBadger35 I'm sending this in on pod day expect it Miguel Sanchez.

Today's result was a perfect example of why the WAFL shouldn't loosen the restrictions of the WAFL Eagles recruitment. None of the players today played against Richmond, so it's not a case of us pushing numbers back. We saw the winless bottom team with a percentage of 46 beat the 2nd place team who had only lost 1 game prior, and it coincided with getting a few players back from injury/management.
That is BS if we didn't have a bye shuey wouldn't have been playing and we would have also been 2 more short in an afl sub and afl emergency.

Take shuey brander and O'Neill out of that team we would have lost by 6+ goals

LOL who doesn't like a little banter in a forum. You know I am
Competition for spots in our backline is going to be off the charts soon.

Locks: TB, Gov, Duggo, Hurn, Shep.

Then H.Edwards, Cole, Foley, Witherden, Rotham and Nelson to fight it out for the last 2 spots?

Getting a few of those boys back will help out the beagles enormously. The defence was very shakey. Johnson and and Collins in will help too.

do you think they would go with Witherden and have him and Hurn as kicking snipers?? or perhaps they will go with 7 at the back and choose 2 out of the lot to join the locked 5?? Interesting problems to have. That adds another dimension to our team having two elite kickers in a same team.

I would pretty much add rotham to those 5 .
Being that 3rd tall or hybrid tall/mid size defender with pace allows us so many options

Been our most consistent defender this year and played every game .

Also allows shep and hurn to not have to cover the resting ruck

Exactly how often does the captain of an AFL club play in the 2nds?

And on the bye weekend with so many coming back from injury needing a run?

Not like the team was purposely stacked.

not totally surprised the beagles won.looked good on paper except the backline.all the quality eagle players in the midfield won the game.you don't need to be a rocket scientest to know a few more wins are on the cards.i would think concessions to recruiting will be off the table for next year.eagles just need a reasonably healthy list to be competitive.

He needs to put on size to complete at wafl level . As for attributes that will transition to afl level .....

He doesn't have pace and he doesn't have kicking skills
He has decent handball vision to go with being a hard nut .

I would hope the midfielders we draft this year will have much better attributes than trew .

I think Ledwards has better afl attributes than trew does
Trew looks quick when moving through traffic. Does some good things but needs to find the footy more.

Yeah wouldn’t it be terrible if the beagles could compete and beat a top team by 5 whole points. Would make the competition a joke, 🤪

A lot of people pump up trew's tyres wanting the guy everyone passed on to be a gun and we end up mastermind recruiters .

Yes he is good on the inside in traffic . Yes he has great vision and uses it to realise other with his handballs .

But... he is often caught HTB , turns the ball over by foot both out of the contest and in general play .
Trew also not at all damaging on the outside of the contest .

If you look at Ledwards he has the opposite problem in the lack of a contested game.
But he has footskills, pace over the ground and damaging with his possessions.

I think Ledwards will naturally build his contested game as he fills out and gets comfortable with afl pace and hardness. These are things he can learn and develop.

I think trew will struggle to develop his outside game and footskills.

If a player is getting holding the ball, they are trying to take the game on. I applaud that. Just needs to grow a mans body and he will be breaking those tackles. Shuey probably gets holding the ball as much as anyone in the Eagles because he constantly takes the game on.

Season off the line for Perth?
Season done & dusted.
Was at the perf game, didn’t look like they were going to get the win from the start.
Said hello to big ‘orse after the game, as he was getting a beer in the bar.
I said you guys were unlucky and probably 7 ins didn’t help , he agreed and said that east perth played pretty well also.

Its not taking the game on more lack of vision and the intensity of the game .
I'm happy to keep trew on the rookie list .
The kid doesn't leave anything on the field .

But I hope we get at least 2 midfielders in this draft that will have more translatable afl qualities.
