Zane Trew only the 5 touches, did he sook it up after being dropped or injured?

Anyone watch this? Winder, Rotham and Naish looked like they had big games.

Only watched the first half, from that Naish playing off the HBF got a few touches rebounding and looked our best. Winder's possessions were a lot of link up touches in the middle, nothing damaging. Rotham must've had a big second half coz he didn't really stand out in the first.

stats but not impact, Rotham is frustrating with a lazy ball drop and an insistance on high floating kicks to the regular disadvantage of team mates. Is he a full time professional?
Sunny as always.

I thought Josh Rotham was just outstanding and a clear best on ground for the Beagles. Played a number of different roles - full-back, wing, ruckman, I think I even saw him start in the forward 50 at one stage. Gave up a lot of height and weight to the East Freo ruckman, but still managed to win 14 hitouts. Had 27 disposals and it felt like virtually all of them were effective, took 11 marks too. To me he showed a clear willingness to take risks and move the ball forward which was really promising. There's definitely a quality footballer there, now the challenge for him is whether he can translate it to AFL level. It was great to see him roaming up the ground in this game, I'd love for him to have some more freedom in the AFL side.

Isiah Winder played a midfield role and had a great game. 26 disposals, 6 inside 50s, 5 marks. Covered the ground well and moves through traffic really nicely. Stood up in tackles and managed to get good disposals out under pressure. If he's not selected at AFL level, I'd love to see him continue in this role for a few more WAFL games.

Naish was pretty good again on the wing and is building some strong WAFL form. 30 disposals and ran hard to find space and provide an option. Ball use a bit dubious at times, but did well to gain territory.

Clark started off very slowly but worked his way back into the game and finished with 23 disposals and 8 tackles. One of the best tacklers on our list - he generally pins the arm and doesn't let the opponent lift their arms out and get a disposal away.

Jack Williams was overall beaten by his opponent when playing forward IMO, particularly on pace/agility, but had good impact when put in the ruck. 14 touches, 10 hitouts and kicked a really nice snap under pressure in the first half.

Dixon kicked a couple of nice goals and did what he had to in his first game back in about a month.

Zac Langdon was clearly a bit rusty, second game back from injury. Tried to take on the tackler with a fend off about three times and got pinged holding the ball every time. Only the 11 disposals and 1 behind, but did lay 8 tackles at least.

Not sure what happened with Trew - wasn't having much impact anyway, but I did not see him after about midway through the second quarter. I initially thought it was an injury, but as some have suggested already he may have been called up for a late flight to Melbourne.

Naish gives me strong Kane Lucas vibes

Was Dixon on managed minutes? Surprised Browne made way for the incoming Clark and Trew....or did the young fella drop out through COVID. EF will hopefully be looking to get Browne back for 2023, especially if WCE don't rookie him. Read somewhere Browne was on a year's loan to get some league footy into him and let him show his wares to WCE. Has he done enough for you guys to sneak a rookie spot?

Nelson, Winder, Naish, Dixon and Williams named in the WAFL. Should be two, maybe even three emergencies to join them although the third would probably play limited minutes.

Former Eagles Mark Hutchings and Aaron Black part of a star studded West Perth lineup.

Don't forget Ben Johnson who's in there too ;)

Funnily enough he's been named on Dixon.

Big Johnson vs Huge Dixon, what a matchup!

The last time West Perth had a lineup that could genuinely be called 'star studded' it included names such as Polly Farmer, Bill Dempsey, Mel Whinnen and Les Fong.
