Not sure how WCE can recruit better quality players to their WAFL team.....the good WAFL players like Fisher, Bolton, Keitel, Florenca, Strom, Black, Rogers, Schloithe etc keep getting ignored by WCE at the various drafts each year.....why would they want to play for WCE reserves side....

Do the WCER top ups get immersed into WCE club culture, or are they just merely game day additions that train amongst themselves during the week.

WCER may have fewer AFL players than Peel but what they have are not showing talent, effort, and all the else you need to play WAFL

This is worrying. Reality si we have been dragged down by successive good seasons giving us limited draft capital. This is reflected in our AFL list throughout. Now is the time to rebuild and it will take a couple of years.

The WAFL is meant to be the premier 2nd tier competition.

Unfortunately the Beagles are (at best) a 3rd tier team with a 4th tier hit and giggle retirees league attitude to on field effort.

Leederville Oval looks as good as ever View attachment 1454142

Both 50 metre areas at either end of the ground were just as bad. The Vincent Street end was pure mud in some places.

Centre of Excellence apparently… the wafl and town of vincent completely sold east perth and Subiaco a dud with that deal to move there.

The oval however gets no rest . Two teams train there during the week and then games.

The deal is pretty good with both clubs sharing costs and the Town of Vincent is pretty supportive of football being played there. The main issue with the ground is the excess traffic it gets during the season.

That's the problem in a nutshell.

Historically Leederville always had a pretty good surface. Drainage was good, recovery ok and with only one club there the only scrubby bits of the ground (by season end) was the goal squares and the centre.

Bassendeam was always a mud bath, East Freo was a disgrace (in all ways) and Claremont always seemed to have dead grass. (South) Freo was usually ok in a similar way to Leederville.

Things change but this just looks like overuse.

This is essentially the problem. Two clubs share the oval and it used multiple times during the week for training by both clubs with three games on match days in the men's grades and then potentially three more in the women's grades on the same weekend. Add to that the somewhat persistent wet weather lately and the council's lack of time to prepare the oval adequately, this then leads to the oval looking like this from time to time.

Claremont Oval is also traditionally pretty muddy during the season as is Fremantle Oval.

Jamieson’s stats look like he had a good game, for a big in wet weather?
Yeah Jamieson played well, was quite competitive in the ruck and beat his opponent in terms of impact around the ground.

His last two WAFL games have probably been the best of his career at state-level, clearly he's taken a lot of knowledge and experience from his stint at AFL level this year.
