I once saw an older guy completely round every nut on one wheel trying to change a tyre because he was using the wrong size socket on the tyre iron. Why he kept going after the first one I have no idea. Suppose he wished youtube was around back then.

Yeah I did that once when I got a flat on the way to getting my car serviced...

I stopped after the first one though and got the guys at the car yard to pick up my car lol.

Cheers fellas.

Reminds me of an article I read of boomers bagging millennials for using YouTube to find out how to change a tyre, like they weren't the ones who failed to teach us.
Where I grew up (Midland, Midvale, Swan View) it was the older kids teaching the younger kids how to change a tyre.
Well, half change a tyre anyway! We were all taught how to take tyres off. Very quickly. Never got taught how to put a new one on though.

I had to change a tyre on the side of the freeway at about 1pm on a weekday when all the trucks fly by me. If that isnt the scariest thing i've done

Mine was on a Friday before a long weekend. I had 1.5 T of camper on the back and the rear left tyre blew on the freeway at 100 on a bridge. Car fish tailing like mad and camper flapping around. I had to get off the bridge to get off the freeway enough to change it. Camper had to be taken off before the tyre could be changed, but I got the boys to change it under instruction. Still fricken scary on the side of the freeway.

Is using Youtube not figuring it out by themselves?
Absolutely, I've used youtube plenty of times to fix stuff but I've never blamed members of a previous generation for not teaching me stuff
forcing me to use youtube.
