Truth of the matter is that we need improvement in and on, every line, so I wouldn't be unhappy if we just pick the BPA and work towards specific positional needs, once we get the general standard of our list improved.

That said, if I may ask ..... who do " they " think will be kicking our goals to put us in a winning , or actually I will settle for a competitive, position ???????

Our fitness levels ( or lack thereof ) is just as big an issue IMO as the quality on our list.
My understanding is that Roberts will be a key target along with Schmidt if she’s still around. I agree we need improvement across every line, but I’d also make a few positional changes for certain players too.
Either way with the players we have we are gonna struggle for a while I’d say.

Looks like that Bowen rumour had some merit.

EAGLES ROCKED

Wooden-spooners in 2022, and having barely fired a shot across three turbulent seasons in the competition, West Coast is hardly in a position where it can afford to lose any of its best young players. But that is on the cards, with 21-year-old Mikayla Bowen weighing up whether to remain an Eagle. Bowen, who finished third in West Coast’s best and fairest in 2021, a season win which she was named in the All-Australian squad, has interest from around the league, with her agent Paul Peos telling Moneyball that Bowen was “exploring her options” at a time when several clubs are getting increasingly desperate to land high-end talent. Irishwoman Niamh Kelly also has rival interest and could depart the Eagles, who are themselves courting Gold Coast ball magnet Jamie Stanton.

AFLW Season 7 Update

The AFLPA & AFL are currently working together to negotiate and sign off on a new collective bargaining agreement that will allow AFLW players to receive a pay increase as well as providing teams with an option to sign players up on longer contracts.

It is expected these negotiations could be signed off within the next week or two allowing for an August season start date to be locked in along with clarity on dates for the AFLW trade period & draft to take place.

Bring it on! 💪

- Think we will be locking in one Ella Roberts for as long as possible

How confident are you that it will be Ella Roberts we pick?Last year I recall we were almost certain it was going to be Franklin and it wasn't.Roberts is the obvious choice to pretty much everyone, but I don't trust our recruiters 1 bit, both for our men's or women's teams.

Well if they want my membership dollars again next year ( and I am sure I wont be alone here ) and they pass on Ella Roberts then they can GAGF.

Cause if they do that I am " gonski " out of the membership stakes.

While I was disappointed that we passed on Franklin last year, I was also optimistic ( and still am ) about Charlie Thomas who I though had some real upside.

Fast forward to 2022, I don't see any other player that comes within the same postcode as far as quality compared to Roberts.

Surely the recruiting team cant screw this one up.

Surely ................ please, pretty please.

Extremely confident.

If we don’t I’m done with monetary support for the club.

This isn’t a close contest. She is the best player in the country.

I may be pessimistic, but until they call her name out on draft day,im going to assume its not a done deal.I feel we will try and outsmart ourselves and stuff it up.

Fair enough

We deserve to languish at the bottom of ladder for years to come if they try this

What an embarrassingly sorry sight our Club has become, even those onboard the little ship have had enough and are wanting out.

West Coast AFLW Trade News

According to reports West Coast AFLW midfielder Mikayla Bowen is looking more likely to leave the Eagles and continue her career interstate with new teams Hawthorn & Essendon circling the youngster despite it been understood no final decision has been made as of yet.

We don't want to lose a quality youngster like Mikayla Bowen but if was to happen hopefully we are compensated in some form from the competition with an extra first round or early second round draft pick.
