I’m confident we don’t lose Ella.

Also - apparently “Freo are all over the place at the moment”

They could very well end up with Cleaver #1 pick at the proper 2023 draft later this year.

Cleaver for Franklin is a good trade for us. Cleaver's good, but Franklin should end up better. Whether the Dockers think it's enough is another question.

Giving them another high pick next year might be okay too, asFranklin's exactly the kind of player we need. We wouldn't get much from next year's draft, but the one after that is absolutely loaded, so long term we'd be fine, plus we'd have the extra key forward we desperately need. Otherwise the only exciting key forwards in the draft are the year after THAT (2007 born).

Agreed on all fronts.

Looking back at the 2021 draft, it might be that we walk away with Thomas, Franklin, Rowley, Shilling and Lakay. Add to that the 2022 draft of Roberts, Wakfer x 2, Bushby and Elkington (we haven't seen 3 of these yet) and we start to get a really good core of genuine footballers and not just athletes.

Franklin would enable Roberts to play on a HFF and roam midfield. Now we just need to land it without giving up any of those above mentioned.

We have draft pick 3 and 21 in the AFLW Season Eight Supplementary Draft. Happy to give up both these picks for Amy.

I have no idea what the rules are for trading AFLW future picks.
If they let us get away with that, it'll be robbery. If I'm Freo, I'm demanding at least pick #1 for the next proper draft, and possibly more.

Getting pick 1 in the real draft and another pick - that would be a feather in your cap.

So Amy has played 12 games averaging a goal every second game, 4 kicks, 2 tackles and 1 mark a game!!!! She has not yet set the world on fire.

Amy moving back seems to confirm that there's a bunch of great kids now who all like each other, grew up playing together and enjoy being in the same team. Which in a low-salary competition where people aren't doing it for the money is just about the most important thing you can have.

Caught up with Amy today. Shes pumped and Im gonna renew my AFLW membership because of her I told her :D

Any insight as to how it came about? Has the club been active in persuading her or did she arrive at the decision on her own?

Yeah I'm stoked about it but it's a weird one. No go home factor obviously, few issues with Freo's coaching appointments recently but other than that their system/management of their AFLW side has seemed better than ours generally? Can't see any obvious reasons to move.

You'd think we'd have to have been in her ear
