The poor turnout for the test could be the test team are on the nose with the WA public after what happened to Langer.
I know a few of my mates that normally go are now anti test team and call them nsw not Australia and the hate for cummins and warner is unreal.
Pretty sure the NSW bias happened throughout JL tenure.....Starc, Hazlewood, Cummins, Smith, Lyon and Warner....always been a NSW feel to that Aust test XI....JL didn't change from that when all those players were available.

It was a Wednesday in November, just after we'd had five matches in the T20 World Cup and we felt we were being handed the crappier of the two touring sides.

Give us India in December 2023 and there'll be at least 25,000 there on day one.

How is it bias when all earned their spot through being the best for their roles?

Which would you have preferred whilst he was coach?

are there rules regarding international players in the shield? Wouldn't mind seeing Perth lad like Stephen Eskinazi have a go if he is here for the rest of the summer.

You can have one international player in your side.

given next summer’s 3 v pakistan, 2 v WI, we’re gonna have another WI with **** all there again I think

Mate, I merely used the term bias, in response to fabab's comment NSW were referred as the Aust team.....I agree with you, pick the best players, irrespective of which state they came from.

Im gonna assume SOS will be managed but it will interesting which format he will play. The shield batting line not as solid as the One day set up but then again can his body hold up playing 4 days games. You could also argue where the short form batters available are probably also better than him now

Yeah, got my years wrong, unfortunately.

So Pakistan are here mid-December to early January, so they'll get Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney (tradition and all that).

And then West Indies in mid-January to mid-February, but also including 3 ODIs and 3 T20s. Wouldn't mind betting they'll play three white-ball stuff first and then the tests in February, when everyone is back at work and school....

He stated at the start of the year he will be focussing on red ball cricket and will only play the 50 over game if needed.

Stoinis and Bison very risky for shield but For the one dayers you take em in a heart beat.
M.Marsh for the One Dayers is a none brainer.

S.Marsh is getting old, but he’d be great in the Shield side, we need one more bat.

We have great youth coming thtough, he’d also be a great mentor for Wyllie, Wasley, Collins. (Goodwin) also..

I’d like to have another crack at Turner at 6. He’s having a solid Grade year

I dunno, I feel like the days of 18-year-olds being blooded is fairly rare these days (Teague Wyllie the obvious exception today, Cam Green before that). Sam Fanning is just getting a guernsey and he's 22. Cricketers seem to make their debut in their early 20s, hit their peak around 26 and can play into their late 30s these days.

Playing for the WA 2nds against Tasmania instead. Made 81 in his first innings

The WA setup probably think he's better off playing against first class bowlers like Bell and Rainbird as opposed to kids, especially as he will be a bit too old for the next U19WC. That being said, there are some other guys who are in the current U19 squad who will be overage by then, but none who are particularly close to their state sides at the moment

Well the frustration continues in regards to Jhye...out of the final which we know about on saturday due to the hammie and out of next weeks shield game against SA :(

Really worried that he will not be picked for the England tour ...he needs to play at least 3 shield games plus the final if we get in ..and complete all those games at full fitness to even be considered for a spot on the plane to england.

and in other news Mitch is targeting marsh one day cup in late Feb
