Re: Western Region Football League team

been busy on bigfooty fellas, i head away for a week and theres pages and pages to catch up on. Any more signings recently? whats the go with parkside? managed to keep any guys from last year? heard st albans are in more then a bit of strife with there lack of recruits but who knows. Have heard that Savage is heading to Albanvale, would be a quality division 2 footballer and would have to be getting a bit of coin to leave us. Dont think Grainger will leave, enjoys his time at the club. Colts have picked up quality again, whoevers in charge of recruiting down there does a massive job every year...

lindsay training at the colts thanks for the info beaser

Pretty this sure this so-called Elmur Fudd and Pie Eater was Best on Ground in the 2004 WRFL grandfinal playing a superb game in the ruck for the Warrriors.

If Borlaise is a supposed crap player then it doesn't say much about the standard of Division One football in the WRFL, especially considering it was the leagues showcase, the grandfinal, when the big fellow tore the game and his opponent to shreds.

Personally I think he is a very good player.:thumbsu:

Re: Western Region Football League team

can anyone tell me what the new coach of parkside is like , where is he from and who has he coached before has he played in this comp?

We won't be worring about hoppers to much this year my woodsmen will be very hard to beat this year with some quality tall added and our new coach we will touch up all in front of us and can't wait to watch the likes of colts and hoppers fall over.

Heard that the colts captain b.jacobs is flying and will have his best year ahead and thats from his own mouth.

Also watch out for m.montebello this year he will be the priest medalist, fit as a fiddle

Re: Western Region Football League team

Well well you would have to be kidding i watched that game on that cold cold day and didn't borlaise sit on the bench for over a quarter. Took one mark 2/3's of the way throught the last and that was about it. I could of named three better players on that day who would of deserved that medal. Also i could name probably 25 players ahead of borlaise. I even spoke to a couple of hoppers players after the game who were more than suprised even shocked that he got that medal. Anyway you have your opinion i have mine though i have no ties to him or the club like yourself.

It's what he did with the ball when he got it that counted.....His mere presence on the ground was influential in getting the Warriors over the line on the biggest stage of all, the grandfinal.
Not quite sure who votes for the BOG in the WRFL grandfinal but if you look back over the last few years the panel rarely get it wrong.

seriously he should give the medal back, it is an insult to the players who deserved it

i played in that game and i thought cameron beasley was easily there best, borlaise was well back in the field

Are we talking about the same game presence is a good thing but the bloke has to be on the ground to have any. i suppose he did do some good things with the ball like the time he picked it up and gave it back to the umpire inspirational!!!!!

Re: Western Region Football League team

Can we confirm or not that these grounds are ok...
Parkside in good nick due
Spotty looks ok/good
Sunshine good
Yarraville good
Colts yellow but heard bore water will clean that straight up
St.Albans dry as/stuffed
Hoppers not in good condition (water are the grounds exemted in the area surely this would have to be one)
Glenorden ???
Albion ??? maybe ok not sure.
Altona ???
If albion and either glenorden or altona are ok i can't see why there would be any trouble in playing the years footy in the wrfl lets not worry about other leagues our backyard seems to be ok. Even if the put it back two weeks or made it a 15 round comp. Remember one thing is that the grounds are always hard and yellow at this time of year.
