Just on what you said wrfl fan on frosts posessions, he still gets his share of hard ball gets.He demands the ball and alot of the time he gets it,hes a great kick and most time he uses it well, nearly all his teammates will handball to him if he screams for it,might have a bit to do with him being captain coach...
Keep up the good threads boys

Great work GOLD.
Julier V Venner will have an impact on the type of game Frost has and will make it easier on his tagger(if he gets tagged). Intresting on Frosts possis l wonder how many of those possis were handball recived or hard ball gets or even clearances, the man can play.
There are going to be so many head to head match ups, its a supporters dream the only problem being which one to watch.
It will be great for either team to win but regardless of the result both teams are going to benifit so much from this game that i pittiy the teams that they have to play after it.

Intresting to see Beasley has defintly signed with Spotswood, wonder how his attitude will be against Hoppers after they deserted him and will he be after revenge on the people that absoultely flogged him on this site and the EDFL site will be intresting, now maybe he will get a kick with the well Know Physical side of the WRFL Spotswood

beaza has no issue with hx players, and decision to part ways with club and player was for the face of the club and its morals. he's happy to be playing at spotty as he can get on with this season.

whos colts got this week ? is it sunshine. havent been paying too much attention.

just becuase hes coach, you couldnt be more incorrect, work ethic and getting to the right position would be along the lines of correctness. hes not the only on baller calving them up either, sitting a player on frost only frees up another on baller.

Re: Western Region Football League team

Would love to hear what the heck is happening with Seddon? Can't believe they have lost nearly every game by over 100 pts. Can they win a game? Will they get relegated? Will they still struggle in div 2?

Re: Western Region Football League team

.

As for Sunshine and Mainsbridge im sure there are worst blokes putting on a jumper for Sunshine every week as for other clubs as well, sometimes you need to turn a blind eye to stuff or address it in a different manner. Sunshines a club that hasnt had a lot of success in recent times and maybe because of stupid decsions like not letting or wanting him to play there, they must be hungry for something like success down there or have they forgotten what it feels like(i dont think you forget that stuff). So in closing, unless he killed someone in the club you need to sort your dirty laundry out in house. Did he play juniors there?. The team he is playing for is at last i think maybe you can approach him and get him back, i now i would like him running around and creating amok in my teams forward line.

I think unless people know exactly what happened at the club then no-one can judge how Sunshine has handled this situation. A bloke can only get so many last chances before people have to finally give up. regardless how good one may or may not be. And at this stage, a person with such recent history, regardless of how good others think he may be, isn't beneficial for the future of Sunshine.

Realisticly Seddon's only remote chance of winning a game will be against Altona. I can only go on results thus far, but i think they will struggle against the Vikings even. I will have a more comparable view after we actually play Altona this weekend.

Look Seddon are struggling. On the field on the weekend wthere was a lot of bickering from disgruntled older players. Players it seems as though have been at the club all their lives, and are seeing blokes with no division one ability come to the club and take a healthy portion of money. Things are not rosy down at the Hawks nest, tough job for Jago.

Looking forward to see Travvy43 play, he has some intelligent insights to the game which is refreshing on this site sometimes[/quote]

Intelligent poster, intelligent player. Travvy43 goes good WRFLfan.. real good.

Best bet v hoppers is to be accountable, especially around the stoppages- something that we were disgraceful at when we had them 2 rounds ago. They're awesome at getting the handball out to sweepers across the back of the pack, most of the time this is Carson. After that its usually a switch kick so again, accountability is the key. That said, they're real quick and use the footy well with some big targets up forward. Maybe make sure all colts blokes are 5-10m in front of there hoppers opponent, and dont let them run in front. It would be better to let them have a kick by you being in front 10 metres but holding up play than being 10m behind and let them play free flowing football. That said, its a tough ask. They were very impressive.

Have to agree with kangaroos post here. The hoppers boys are very smart around their stoppages, they dont flock to a pack like bees to honey and always have a quarterback in place to release the congestion.

Quick ball movement when going into attack is a must as their ruckman are quite smart dropping back into the hole.

Julier's influence on the game will be the key, and for mine is the most critical if Ports are any chance to win the game. First hands on the ball is a must out of the centre. When sunshine did this consistently against hoppers for the first 10 mins of the third quarter it was the only real time in the game they were truely under any pressure.

Re: Western Region Football League team

well the colts hoppers game will be a classic but i think both teams need to worry about this week first, hoppers face a tough game against parkside at parks and just because parks lost to st albans i think you will find they will be much tougher opposition this week .
Also the colts will have a battle on their hand with 7 top senior players missing with a former player getting married this week and a few injuries their depth will be tested but i still think the colts will win.
Back to the hoppers parkside game if at all hoppers are focusing in on the colts the week after and parkside are back to full strngth i'm tipping an upset

All im saying is that from what ive seen when he calls for the ball he gets it..........................

Re: Western Region Football League team

Who are the 7 top players missing for the Colts this week?

Who are the 7 players likely to fill the gaps?

Re: Western Region Football League team

Where do Albion play?

Last year Albanvale played in Selwyn Park, Albion and I used to enjoy wandering down to watch a game. I only live 2 minutes from the oval.

Now Albanvale must have moved back home and Albion is a footy free zone.

Being such a proffesional outfit that Hoppers are, I would think they know Parkside will be a test and wouldn't be looking two weeks ahead to the Colts game. To back this up I bumped into a player from Hoppers last night and asked if he was looking forward to the Colts game and he replied "when do we play them". I told him next week and he just said he knows the next 4 weeks are going to be hard games.

Hoppers will win by atleast 6 goals anyone disagree??

Let's talk about this weeks games and see what comes out of them, then we might have some clearer views.
ALBION V STALBANS (at home, too good)
ALTONA V SUNSHINE (altona no good)
PARKSIDE V HOPPERS (close one hoppers just)
PORT COLTS V YARAVILLE (colts too good at home)
SPOTSWOOD V SEDDON (seddon no good)

have to disagree the reason for this is I think colts have the best backline in the comp and thats what you need to beat hoppers.what you also need is plenty of pressure on the player deliverying the ball which I don't think has happen to hoppers this year.then it comes down to the clake vs taylor if clake can get his 5 or 6 goals I think that will be enough for the colts to win a thrilla by 2 points.:thumbsu:

What about Winters who is going to match him up. 6 goals is a bit silly Madpiethe win by either team will be alot closer. You also have Buchannan for hoppers who is kicking goals and is a smart cheat of a player, then that super quick Koutza he is hard to match up on, i see Iorndains is at Hoppers from Albion he always went well when we played Albion so he would be added value.
For this week against Yarraville, Colts have a few out if it was at Yarraville im sure it would be a danger game, but the Colts have great depth with priemership players playing twos footy and senior regulars playing in the two and a few from injury back, also heard a whisper a new recruit has turned up off the street on Tuesday night, and meant to have a fair resume very fair, cant help bad luck ha ha.

This thread may as well be named "Hoppers & Colts"

AS for my opinion, seen both teams play and i think hoppers will be too strong for the colts.

Re: Western Region Football League team

If you don't want to play the race card then don't play it. If you know as little as you appear to about any reason the club had for not turning up then perhaps you should leave out any speculation. Your post leaves it open for some people to consider you to be a redneck moron and we would hate that to happen.

I am not aware of the details, but apparently a number of Central Altona players have been reported/suspended etc in the last few weeks and we can't forget that big fight where the game was called off in round one I believe against West Footscray.

I would appreciate your thoughts and comments.

Thge game that was called off was against Nth Footscray. From what i hear there were two to three players in particular for Central Altona that were acting like thugs, had more intentions on whacking blokes than putting thier heads over the pill and getting it.

The league was called to the ground at half time by North Footscray after the ugly scenes of the first half. With unsightly incidents again occuring in the third quarter the league called the game off at three quarter time.

Ice Cube, there was a bit of discussion on this thread about this incident some time ago.
