Just heard that Seddon folded last night. My source was not a usual one so not sure how much to read into it, that is just what i heard. If anyone has heard similar, let us all know. Bring on a general bye if so.

In the discussion with the league yesterday regarding the ump from the weekend I asked the above q.... was told that Seddon would be there to the end of the year. ( league source ) Anyone else heard anything?

Travvey , how did Beasly play on the weekend ?

Thanks

Yeah on the weekend i heard they would stick it out until the end of the year and then merge with Yarraville for next year. (this meeting was driven by the Maribyrnong Council).

Down the track, as part of the merger deal, the combined club may recieve a new changeroom structure to replace the portables currently in place.

But the news i just put across was from a meeting that occured last night??

Beasly, started at CHB and that is where he stayed. Played on Stenhouse who kicked five and was probably our most effective forward. He did not spend one minute in the midfield which surprised me.

So i assume it is now a general bye. Just curious, what happens with percentage, will Yarraville's be readjusted because they are the only team to have played them twice.

Re: Western Region Football League team

i heard they were having meetings and a partnership with the doggies may be formed yarraville /seddon bulldogs or something. which reminds me isnt it a similar thing that happened with the old ycw and north melb, is there any relationship there still travvy ?

Full details will follow later, last weeks percentage will not stand, as well as b&f votes etc, all teams will be given the four points

I have not heard this although it would make sense. There was talk in the pre-season about a partnership between seddon and the bulldogs, with the aim of eventually being recognised at the team where werribee top up players missing out on a twos game would play.

This obviously did not happen this year however steps may be put in place to make it happen in the future.

this is my first year with Sunshine and from what i can see there is no official relationship with the North Melbourne Kangaroos. Other may know mor eon this though.

From what i heard the merge did not go ahead because Yarraville did not want to play any games at Yarraville gardens, which i think is fair enough when they have a great ground in yarraville.

I thought that was the point of the merger, to get games away from Yarravile Gardens. Surely seddone would not want games played at that ground if the merger went ahead. They would be licking their lips with anicipation o being able to play at Yarraville every second week.

Well seddon have folded hey,im sure the league must be fairly dissapointed with that result. It does seem strange that second division clubs can survive yet they can not.Hopefully the wrfl admin done all they could to avoid this situation.
One thing i am sure of though clarke and davis would be shattered this will put a huge dent in there chances to kick the ton,and didn't clarke predict he would kick the ton against hoppers, looks as though things are starting to bite rock07 on the bum already.
I for one hope they both dont get it as they are both smart as sess who just sit in the goal square getting the rewards for others hard work.

Although it is a welcome break to a few injured and ageing body's. It is also sad news to hear that a club rich with history has folded, hopefully that history can be restored in a merger with Yarraville.

what is happening to suburban football the day clubs like seddon have to fold midway through a season in division 1 cant be good, mind you it's not good what their players go through week in week out
i personally dont enjoy beating sides like that there is no satisfaction we all play a grade footy coz most of us are equal in ability and it challenges you each week that why we love it
just wondering what can be done to avoid this from happening to other clubs in future, surely the league could've intervened after the early rounds and relegated seddon, i'm sure the seddon supporters, players and club commitee would prefer to be in 2nd division as apposed to folding

I think this year the umpiring is at its lowest point. What is the league doing?? Each club give a lot of money to the leage for administration costs,. which is amazing considering the clubs do all their own team sheets etc. The League as a whole needs to stand up.... having been slightly involved with the umpirers over the last few years this demise has been coming. Unfortunatley the people running the show previously to this year were not practive enough to keep the decent young umps that were coming through.
Top points about the umps and the costs that the clubs are hounded for. The WRFL goes on about how good it is and all that and then they cant get decent umps they got rid of the record which every other league has, l just cant see the league going places when they cant get the little things right. And to make matters worst a Div 1 team is folding thats embarrasing to the players and the league that shouldnt happen in a Div 1 comp

Teams try to recruit players to our comp from other stronger comps and then sh it liketeams folding happens and the standard of umps players are entiled to leave after a year.

alot of water under the bridge since then

Seems to be a lot between Clix and bloods05 can either of you let us know where it stems from

What happens to blokes that get a week last week is it served for the bye or will they miss the next game as well(ie; Fabian Webb)?

Won a couple of flags vs Sotty i think in the early 90s had a guy called Scotty Evans let me tell you he was a gunnnn!!!! Just ask Spotty.

Re: Western Region Football League team

Well WRFL Fan the Sunshine Football club was approached by North melbourne to take on their "Kangaroos" title. This was a marketing ploy to have local teams and the communities to familiarise theselves with the North Melb Kangas. In the first year North assisted some 20 clubs Australia wide that took on the Kangaroos title with jumpers, and over the last couple of years have been helpful with the juniors, giving kids tickets to their games, access to the rooms before and after the match, transportation to the matches etc and sending players to junior training. Other clubs that that taken on the names are sunbury kangaroos, Morrabbin Kangaroos, Norther Kangaroos, Clarence Kangaroos (SA), Oak park kangaroos - this is to name a few
