that was the 4th time i've lost to them in 12 years, but they have knocked us off the last 2 times we've played

i agree with that. only other time i can recall the cats beating us was last year by 2 points.

we didn't play our best footy watching from the sidelines in the first quarter we looked terriible, but talking nothing from albion, they were fantastic and if they had kicked straighter they would have been up by 10 goals at quarter time.

second quarter was pretty even, zavarlos was best for albion in the first half along with number 30.

third quarter we played good and hoath was dominating all over the ground coming off the wing, he kicked a goal to but us down by a point. before number 14 i think kicked 2 quick ones to make the lead 2 goals.

last quarter, albion seemed a lot fitter, butina and number 23 were giving our backline a bath up forward.

Karaminovski was our best player i thought he did well, after playing most footy in the 2's last year. well done. hoath was also good

Known Monty many years through school and footy and that statement couldn't be further than the truth. There's worse cowards in the WRFL than him, but I'm not going to mention them.
Get back on the footy talk lads. I miss the league already! I need some quality football!!!!!!

where albion really that good? or did colts have more of an off day. seen the cats play st albans week 1 and they looked good but not that good! to knock off colts by 50 points is massive esp with d jacobs playing. colts do have a tendacy of droping games early in the season would i be right in saying this? but always come right at the business end of the season

Albion were fantastic, probably don't have the big names but what they did have was 21 bloke playing for each other and sticking to their game plan, they will have a big say come september.

Hoppers crossing VS Yarraville seddon- Hoppers will be far too strong for yarra, big win here 25goals.
Albion VS Altona- albion too strong here, but altona will still make a game off it, albion by 12 goals.
Port melb VS St albans- Should be a cracker but watch the colts come out on fire early, port are to good to lose 2 in a row, port melb by 4 goals.
Spotswood VS Glenorden- Spotty by alot 20 goals. The side too beat again..
Sunshine VS West footscray- sunshine in a close one, id say 20 goals. real close..

Also who will miss the 5 out of the six top sides.. too hard to call!

imo 1 game only with a chance of the margin going under 10 goals would have to a worry for the league

We were terrible and even if we had masis,bonnett,winters or wittmar i don't think it would have helped our attitude.

But by no means are Colts fat or slow... we pride ourselves on our fitness and they were the strongest in the last quarter of our game, although it was on the small ground at Colts so fitness isnt as important as on the bigger grounds. Also in other news Sunshine will be playing Spotty at home on Anzac Day. Not sure if thats the 2's as well, but very sure our games going ahead. Hopefully get a good crowd there, good move by the WRFL and both clubs.

Has been confirmed tonight by the WRFL for ANZAC Day game Sunshine V's Spotswood.
12.15pm Reserves with a short RSL Service at 2.15pm and Seniors commencing at 2.30pm.
If weather is right, will be a huge crowd.

Off topic slightly,

Hoppers Crossing have had three players suspended in the first two rounds??? What's going on there? They are usually one of the cleaner teams in the WRFL.

Hopefully come down to Melbourne soon for a break from the coal dust and catch a game or two when I'm there.

Thats right Pinnochio. Its all part of the contract up here. Anything to make it easier on the bod. The old body is going through hell up here. Not sure how many wet t-shirt comps it can take! By the way Goodey, leave the comedy to the experts.

bit late i know - but i've been busy.

Was at the night game at St Albans for the season opener and was very impressed with the facilities they now have available. Light towers are fantastic, along with the piss up shed next to the social rooms.

Does anyone know if the local council assisted with any of the funding for the light towers?? Or was that all a St Albans FC funded exercise?
