Looking at the scores this week I found that there were all thrashings...

Very disappointing for the league to have this happen. Hopefully there won't be many of these left.

By the looks of it Yarraville and West Footscray will be fighting the wooden spoon and the subsequent drop.

Colts must have hit the form again wth a smashing of St. Albans.

Spotty and Albion the teams to beat this year?

Zavalas would give the Cats the hard footy attitude, let's see how they go when the chips are down because traditionally the Cats tend to be a bit too physical when they are not having it their own way..................

good stuff rock still got it champ.........8 of the best and these doozies will still get on and give u a pasting......

its not so hard to work out who's soft from hoppers, there only hard players are taylor and clonan the rest are cowards

Get off the the smack stupe !!!
Spotty & hoppers have been great sides over the years but theve never been hard stop living in dream land

Go easy on the insults champ, especially when you probably didn't think real hard about my comment. I didn't say anything about Hoppers or Spotty being hard or soft. I just wanted Grizzly to explain what he thought was a 'hard' side rather than just shooting off about teams being soft.

hey mate when do u no of parkside putting in a club report? because i played for parkside for 8 years and thats the 1 st ive heard of that and i dont think we were a dirty side hard yes... and no other side in the 8 years i played tried to be dirty against parkside because they wouldnt get away with being dirty against parkside so i dont no what game u watched because i dont think hoppers or spotty would of tried snipping parkside or if u did see when was it last year when they had 18 kids playing

2004, Spotswood versus Parkside at Spotswood. A. Bugeja reported by Parkside.
Most who know about the comp would agree that Parkside were a great side but not adverse to the dirty side of the game. As for me, I enjoyed watching them play footy because they played the local brand brilliantly.
I don't remember saying anything about Spotty or Hoppers trying to snipe Parkside so I don't why you would even bring that up.

A curfew of 3.00am? You're a very lucky bloke in my eyes.

Played at West yesterday and that ground is riduculous... driving past i've always thought it was bad but the whole set-up is a disgrace. never been more sore after a game, half the ground is covered in sand and at stages its up and down hill... also west were pretty undisciplined from the start. 13 50m free kicks against by half time. think we ended up winning by about 140 odd points, just happy to have the away trip out of the way. Still had about 8 or 9 senior players out so we can only improve. West had a couple of guys who went alright, but they are just too small to challenge teams... they play Yarra next week and seem to be setting themselves for it.

that umpire was more disgraceful than our ground and that's saying something....

agree with you on that undisclipned when things get tuff hopefully thats a thing of the vpast as the repeat offenders have either moved on or have been sorted out over say a 5 year period borgy and steve is certainly leading by example in the hardness at ball area

Was interesting to listen to Triple MMM news this morning at 7am and hear the results of the Spotswood and Glenorden game being talked about in the sports bulletin.

Spotty must be doing something right, next thing you know the'll be showing highlight of their games on Sports Tonight.:p

Hopefully mate because the catters are playing a bloody good brand of footy....

Hope to see some of the BF boys at the footy if it is on ANZAC Day as I am coming down for a couple of days.

More to the point, what is the WRFL going to do about Division 1. The top 5 is almost set after only 3 rounds by the looks of it following StAlbans capitulation against a rampant Colts outfit. The only interest will be the order that Spotty, Albion, Hoppers, Sunshine and Port Melbourne Colts finish at the end of the season. The League will not survive under the current structure. Do they sit on their hands and bury their heads in the sand or do they co opt some "experienced people" from within the Clubs to get together for a "thinktank". The currently convened 20/20 will be too late as we will be gone by then, swallowed up by the powerful clubs from the Geelong, Essendon, Southern, Eastern and Northern Leagues.

No real answers here. My comments serve as a catalyst for discussion !!

I went down to watch the port v st albans game on Saturday and St Albans were very poor i did notice Jimmy Hollow did not play but i am sure that 1 player can not change a side that much. Do they have any other injuries because if they dont they are a long way off the mark.
Also Rock i dont think you are getting the best out of Danny Jacobs playing him in the position you are, but i guess you are just easing him through games at this stage.

Well i thought he played very well. Do you know where he played???
I thought against albion we didn't play him in the best positions but we changed it up and i thought he was very productive.
The pace and skill of the game is something he has to get used to,it is a big drop but he will keep getting better for us, no doubt

I am not sure of his exact position but he was playing behind the ball alot and his deliver was first rate into the forward line, i would think playing him in the forward line would be scary site for oppositions but i guess when the forward line is operating as it did on Saturday it is handy having him around the midfield.
