Word from alot of people around the ground was that Clarkey was 20c short of a dollar but to be fair to the man I believe its more appropriate to refer to him in Thailand currency. No idea about life that man... I have seen some tough footballers running around and a few headcases and there are a few blokes I would love to see Mr.Clarke have a crack at, unlike yesterday he would have been sitting on his arse before he got the chance to even throw his fists around like a circus clown from the psych ward.

Everyone talks about spotty being dogs including myself, but how it turns when your in a losing side.
Clarkie is gone,he is the colts biggest dog and you won't see him playing football ever again after his behaviour today.five umpires reported him along with the WRFL and even the cops.
Good Bye Rock07,you dirty low life dog, can't accept defeat when it occurs.
Bet you will be boxing on back at colts ground by now, along with all the other low life dogs.
I hate spotty, but they were great in the last 5 minutes to win the game today and also glad they lost the ressies.
Where is the 09 season?

totally agree! port colts are nothin but sore losers and thats the reason why the wrfl is a joke! wit teams like port colts running around there the reason y other clubs steal most of promising young juniors and beta players i hope the league finally grows some balls and servely punishers all involed!

You've gotta feel for League officials who have to put up with this crap in the Western Region constantly. A great contest ruined by morons that just want to get blind, abusive and punch on.

A couple of observations on the game.

- 1st half wasn't a great spectacle, lots of errors from both teams & not much niggle either, considering the occaision.

- really opened up in the 2nd half & ended up being a superb grand final. Julier was BOG for me, did a mountain of work & did it well.

- I didn't have a problem with the umpiring, the decision not to award the 'mark' to the Colts player in the last qtr was a correct call. Didn't see the goal-line decision in the last quarter tho.

- Colts inability to seal the deal is what cost them, I don't think any of their players would think that the umps hurt them.

- I'm not condoning the fight after the game but you've got to wonder what's going thru people's heads sometimes. Have a bit of class & celebrate the victory with some modesty, don't go shooting your mouth off at blokes who have just lost a grand-final, its an emotional time.

There were some issues over near the cricket nets in the crowd with a group of young Spotty supporters having a war of words with some older Colts people. 2 security guards went over, somebody threw a cut lunch & police immediately intervened. Nobody got kicked out tho,

The Spotty supporters looked about 18 years old maximum.

It then just simmered until the final siren sounded, then it got a bit ugly which was disappointing & like someone else said on here, it's not the way to attract high-profile players to the WRFL. Until this kind of thing goes away there's a good chance the league will keep falling behind the EFL, EDFL & NFL.

i dont no how he is a dog maybe stupid yes but not a dog, he was egged on by a spotty supporter who had 30 spotty blokes behind him and hes ran over by himself and confronted the man face to face and outnumbered. it was a silly act maybe but no way a dogs act.

Hey foxxy you are a spineless **** who hides behind a computer and calls someone a dog, show some dash and confront clarkie and tell him to his face instead of taking the cowards route. To call someone a dog is very harsh and im sure that you are prepared to meet clarkie and discuss this him???????????
Its very tough to get on here and call someone a dog that takes a lot of courage im sure you are a well respected person in your community whos football achievements will be spoken about for many years to come???????,What have you done in your football career???/
Coached any A grade sides??/Coached any sides to an a grade flag?
Won any comp medals or won any goal kicking awards????????
See foxxy what you are realising now is that in fact its you who is the dog,a sad pathetic, no talented, jealous coward who gets himself off by writing nasty things about people,i would be happy to pass on your details to clarkie if you would like to discuss your issues with him??????
Im sure your man enough to stand by your words?????????????

Foxy is acerman from YCW

i hope u get off clarky, coz in all my time in football i have never seen a field umpire overide a goal umpire before he had even made a decision

Choofa. We'd have to ask the blokes behind the goals what they heard of the discussion between the field and goal umpires. From where I stood, it looked like the field umpire was making sure the goalie was absolutely certain that it was a goal. Obviously I couldn't hear what was going on so can't be sure.

I spoke to a few blokes from opposition teams who were behind the goals and they thought it was a point, then another couple came over and said it had sneaked in by a bee's appendage. Looks like the Wayne Harmes boundary line incident in the 79 GF has nothing on this debate.

FiloBeddoe - bit surprised that you have not got a Conspirancy Theory going on today's events so I thought I would have a go

Conspiracy Theory Number One

Port Melbourne Colts win the 2007 WRFL Premiership. Early in the last quarter number 7 of Port Colts celebarates a goal (check this weeks local rag if you don't believe me). Soon after their full forward kicks a goal and high fives the crowd as he runs around the boundary line. Port Colts in front. Colts ruckman has a shot from 20m and does not make the distance. Spotty players told to wave goodbye to the flag. Spotty keep playing, Port Colts ?? Spotty win Premiership by 6 points.

Conspiracy Theory Number Two

Spotswood win the 2008 WRFL Second Semi Final. Spotswood have control over the game and look to reverse the result of their previous 2008 encounters. Port Melbourne Colts come form behind to win by 3 points. PMC celebrate their "Never say Die" attitude and have another week off.

Conspiracy Theory Number Three

Port Melbourne Colts win the 2008 WRFL Premiership. Port hold sway for most of the day with Danny Jacobs (the protected species) getting plenty of the ball. Despite Spotty getting the best of the umpires (someone elses words not mine) Port Melbourne Colts hold a commanding (in the contaxt of the game) at 3 quarter time. A goal here or there and Colts are still 3 straight kicks in front. 23 from Spotty has run D.Jacobs into the ground so he goes forward for a rest. 21 from Colts finally meets an equally or stronger opponent in the ruck (number 34 whose old man apparently knows a bit about playing in a Premiership Team). Colts still favoured to win as they begin to high five on the bench at the 20 minute mark and in the crowd (they must have forgotten about last year). Spotty get back to within 2 points with not long to go. Ball goes toward Spotty goal square and amongst at least 10 players 22 from Spotty takes a mark. The same 22 from Spotty who Colts Coach said on the radio following second semi that he was good, just sometimes he does not want to be !!. Well, this time he wanted to be good. At the bounce 34 from Spotty against the tiring 21 from Colts thumps the ball 30m toward Spotty goal. Kicked forward to a mark form Andrew Gibson Medalist 35 who increases the margin to 10 points after the siren.
Spotty win the flag for back to back victories, both against Port Melbourne Colts and both from being behind with 8 minutes to go !!

Conspiracy Theory Number Four

After the game Colts number 7 rushes to the umpires to congratulate them on the great job they had done with their umpiring of the game. He soon departs to leave his team mates and supporters to have a frank discussion about the way the day unfolded. Plod arrives and gives them a spray prior to the Premiership Team presentation and celebration.

Soon be Cricket !!

I won't be posting a conspiracy theory on this one but you're free to continue writing them, if you like? I don't have a monopoly on conspiracy theories but will be suing those who rip mine off. HAHA. Plus I'm not into making light of a GF loss for any team.

Just a question though, are the quarters 25 and time on? If so, I find it hard to believe that celebrations would begin at the 20 minute mark unless a team was 5 or more up, regardless of how few goals were kicked during the game. You sure they think they had it in the bag? As for supporters who suffered from premature celebration, a lesson in humility may have been learned. Bad form bagging the runners up in a GF, at any level.

Ive said it once and i'll say it again. This is the WESTERN REGION football league, WEST WEST WEST all teams WEST of the river............So Port Colts should be gone.........All the problems over the years all get back to them, they are drunken, sniping dogs..............i bet the league wont boot them out, theyre just as weak!

I was at the game and right near where all the fights happened and that fat short colts supporter hit and kicked that young boy who by the way is only about 15. What a dog cant fight a man has to pick on a young boy and by the way was not over by port colts was infront of where spooty was.

port colts are all 2 cent gangsters. port sides might have been tough 20 years ago but now they just snipe and attack in packs. thats courage . probably 10% actually live in port.

there are a small % of teams in the comp who are constantly in trouble or causing trouble. colts are always in the middle if it and until the league grows some balls and f.ucks them off it will continue forever.

they believe they have some god given right to belt anyone when they lose a game. a bit like braybrook.

these type of clubs are killing local football faster than soccer or basketball.

shame the committee's of these clubs and brainless morons.

well done spotty.

How can you say colts are sore losers! They got done last year in a close one and it was accepted as the colt players losing the game on their own efforts. No incidents at games end!
Yesterdays game was purely won in the last quarter by poor umpiring decisions, that cost the colts a third premiership in five years! A mark to Perkins not payed and goal to Milen not payed, these were both crucial aspects of the game that would have given the colts a 3 goal advantage with 8 min left. The siren went Colts got robbed and emotions spilled over, nothings worse than knowing something has been taken from you that is rightfully yours!
Sometimes blokes should shut their mouths or people get hurt! Look out for COLTS on the rampage in 2009 the U18's have some class and will only improve with experience... Keep persisting colters!!:thumbsu:

As weak as your nameless comment champ and yes West is shit unemployment, single whores with to many sprog's and no heart because you all like to snipe on here.

And if we are sniping dogs when the last time you had a crack, yes we lost another final we should have won and you know what the best pain is the one that hurt's because the player's are a team and next we will be much harder to beat, not like Spotty with the Beazer unrest and the 2nd's getting done.

Colts should of been further in front, than dubious free kicks wouldnt of come in to play regarding the results. Colts squandered numerous opportunities early on in the game and the Colts seemed to take there foot off the pedal after they got 24 pts up late in the game.

I dont know about Colts rampaging in 09 if the WRFL have any balls they shouldnt be allowed to field a team at all after the discracefull after the game antics that went on.

WRFL is clearly behind the EDFL and EFL in terms of standard but to say it is behind the NFL is very debatable, the NFL has dwindled in standard for years now and wouldd either be on terms or even behind the WRFL in terms of standard.

I know of a player who was a spectator at the time was given 36 weeks 2 years ago for hitting another spectator its going to be very interesting to see how the wrfl will handle this
Don't know who's fault it was but the competitions gone back 20 years with crap like that

How could a player that wasn't on the team sheet be reported for hitting a spectator.

Northern league is still a pretty decent competition. A lot of good players running around (handful of ex-AFL etc..)
I don't know how clean or dirty it is cos I haven't seen any of their games this year but the WRFL won't progress far if finals end up in blood-baths like it was yesterday.

And stuff like the West Footscray v Hoppers incident getting front page in the local rag won't fill parents of junior kids with joy.

By the way the Colts supporter blaming the umpiring for the loss is embarassing.

Its a shame cause Footy is the Loser after these sorts of incidents especially with a heap of kids at the game. Parents will be put off now putting there kids into this type of enviroment and you can understand it to.

How could a player that wasn't on the team sheet be reported for hitting a spectator.

He was out injured at the time & still got 36 weeks going on that i'd expect some big suspensions especially hitting spotswood people im sure they will have plenty of witnesses with badges too

I believe that under no circumstance should a player ever confront anyone from the crowd, no matter what the abuse is. It takes a classier player, in my opinion, not to retaliate.

port were the better team all day, just let it slip in the last quarter.
poor umpiring for both teams not just port i believe. Spotty were robbed many times in the first half, likewise for port in the second. Spotty outran Port in the last quarter and ran very hard and deserved the win. The controversial goal/behind IMO was a behind.
Well done spotty.
Danny Jacobs was BOG IMO
