What are the West Indies chances of a series win this summer

i think the Windies will challenge at times and the Aussies will need to be near there best to defeat them.

i think our batting should be able to combat there bowling but bowling against their batting could be where the series is won.

should be a competetive series.

They're doing ok against QLD for a team that hasn't played the longer version of the game (fielding their best side) i don't even know if their A side has played a test all year.

No chance in Fricken Hell!!

If you are so sure at the TAB they are offering 15/1 on the Windies winning the series. (Considering its a 2 horse race those odds are crazy!)

So basically in a word NO!!!!!!

Absolutely no chance!
:D Everyone said that 6 months ago about Australias last opponents.

They pose no real threat to the Aus batsmen.
They don't have any stand out bowlers...yet.
But i believe theres not 2 much experience in the bowling of WI they may be good in years to come, but lets face it, aus will declare in every innings this series.
Unless ofcourse 4th innings when they hit the required runs, if WI can go that far.

So Australia will declare at 2/350 or so will they? Because once that 2nd wicket falls, they will lose 9/50 or so like the last test innings the Aussies played

Australia only have the 4 batsman atm

BIASED

clarke, katich, watson, gilchrist are all quality players and can really turn it on when the time is right. Dont base all your opinions on one series, before this years ashes we had the strongest batting lineup by a mile. suddenly everyones opinions have changed

Well, which is it, eddie...on the first page, it was 2 out, all out...now there are four batsmen....so which of Clarke, Katich or watson are you now rating? Or is it Langer, hayden, Punter and Gilly?

Simple answer to the question really...SLIM AND NONE

Can't believe some people are giving Windies a chance. Even though Australia lost the Ashes, I still think it's boring when they win (see the Super Series). Windies are no chance, although I'd be happy to see them win the series. Remember in that washed out one dayer in 04/05 when the Aussies were 5/43 against the Windies? They can hurt Australia in the one dayers, but not the Tests.

I dunno if they will beat Australia this series... But watch the future... Those 4 pace bowlers they've got... mmmm back to the 70s???

Yeah the stats of the Windies bowlers are pretty poor (a couple average in the 40s), but they look pretty fearsome. They look very strong and fit, and wouldn't be surprised if they caused some damage in this series.

Yeah there stats aren't too wonderful... But who knows what they could become...

I've got a feeling that this series could be closer than a lot of people expect... Especially if Lara fires...

"Re: What are the West Indies chances of a series win this summer"

Getting better by the day.
The most important thing about today (apart from Samuels) is the Windies tail got some runs and showed they can bat. They will need some bowlers to hang around and scratch an extra 50 + runs against Aus.

15/1 is tempting.....
Yep, i'd chuck $10 on it.

People laughed when the poms were $4 before the start of the ashes, saying "haha, they shouldnt be that short, they should be around $8". well who had the last laugh.

well considering Kasper is better than Lee, JOhnson better than Bracken and Watson is there, I would say if they can smash QLD, they will destroy Australia, and the Aussie tail wont wag as much
one of these days you're going to say something intelligent.
