Agree with hardness and player development.

On my wishlist is a focus on, and improvement in, matchday coaching and player discipline (on and off-field).

Next year will be harder than the year we just had, I expect the bulldogs and St.Kilda to be a stronger outfit and a few other teams such as carlton and brisbane to really push through.

our back line will be the key we must get stronger in defence or some of these teams may go past us. I know our forward line is one of or the most formidable line ups in the league but defence is a little frail lets hope gilham and co can take another step up.

I would just love for us to hold our position next year and in the finals who knows what might happen but guys and girls lets not get too excited it takes a few goes before you get there look at geelong for instance they had a bad year to get there.

I expect good membership numbers, Good crowd attendances & a cracking season of football and Darren Goldspink murdering us in one of our 22 games if he EVER umpires us.

The Hawks have proved that they can match it with the best teams in the competition (including Geelong). Towards the end of the '07 season you would go to a match expecting Hawthorn to win regardless of the opposition. The Hawks beat quality opposition including West Coast, Geelong, Adelaide, Collingwood, St Kilda and Port Adelaide. With the exception of Geelong, the other teams mentioned (above) seem to have had the wood on us and beaten us regularly in previous seasons. I probably ranked Hawthorn fourth or fifth for the '07 season (if I was being truly objective). They should improve on that for the '08 season.

How much??? - Nobody knows for sure! But it's time to sit back and enjoy the ride.
