I'm actually Devo I missed out on the gf auctionNo that would definately be my 2nd biggest want however, just taking pics now
Me too, that was before I started collecting jumpers.I'm actually Devo I missed out on the gf auction
Thank you sir
I didn't realise that they would have auctioned them off so I didn't follow the auctions during the off season, big mistake! Wouldn't have been able to afford one anywaysMe too, that was before I started collecting jumpers.
How did you manage to get the Fyfe jumper, they weren't auctioned by Freo were they?
Weird, I don't remember seeing them offered for sale and I can't find them on the results page. Did they go for big money?I didn't realise that they would have auctioned them off so I didn't follow the auctions during the off season, big mistake! Wouldn't have been able to afford one anyways
Yeah they did indeed, I was bidding on Mundys but I missed the end date
The names are mostly in alphabetical order so I didn't have too much trouble finding my name. It was more difficult with the photos in the number.Did it take you long to find your name on the Fyfe ?
Yeah their alphabetical so was pretty easy, it's in a great spot too so I may frame itDid it take you long to find your name on the Fyfe ?
They were up the next day I think, the results are in the Memorabilia-Fremantle Dockers pageWeird, I don't remember seeing them offered for sale and I can't find them on the results page. Did they go for big money?
I was going to say "I probably haven't looked hard enough" and that was the case. They did all go for quite a lot of money, more that what some are worth imho. Did you get the Fyfe jumper for a good price? They were up the next day I think, the results are in the Memorabilia-Fremantle Dockers page
Yeah they all went a lot more than I expected, I was locked on the Mundy one and didn't expect it to go as much as it did that's why I missed out on the lot. Hard to tell their value being they are one off jumpers but I was happy to pay $1200 for the Fyfe...a lot more than I've ever paid for a jumper but once in a lifetime purchase I suppose
Wow, that Fyfe jumper is amazing- I am super jealous! Those 20-year jumpers seem pretty rare too in general, as not only is it a one-off design but also the club only auctioned off the 22 that were worn in the game. A while ago I asked Craig at Fremantle Online Auctions whether the club would be auctioning of the Player Issue spares from that game and he said they had none available and that those 20-year match worn and player issue jumpers were especially rare/ hard to get (I missed out on the match-worn ones but was lucky enough to eventually find a Ballantyne PI on eBay early this year, but I have not seen any others for sale anywhere since).
Yeah, so easy to miss out altogether in those auctions where there are lots of jumpers for sale all at once. I ended up empty-handed after that 20-year jumper auction partly because I was focused on watching Sandi’s jumper in particular and it got too expensive near the end of the auction. But then I have also got caught out in a couple of other auctions by bidding on one or two extra relatively cheap jumpers “just in case” and ending up with more jumpers than I bargained for! I find the overtime bidding on AFL auctions can be frustrating too, when someone wants to start bidding furiously on a particular jumper just before the end to extend the auction 5 by minutes and then I look around and all the other jumpers are gone as they have closed at the usual time….
I’ve gotta somehow get a Fyfe jumper for my collection sometime soon, but given the competition for his match-worn ones it will probably end up being a PI…
Honestly would not have noticed until you mentioned the colours were around the wrong way...still very cool but dunno what it isNot sure about this one. Picked this up from eBay a while back. PI spec as it's made from Sportswool and is longsleeved. The number and the stitching consistent with a couple of Magpie PI jumpers I have from that period, but the front panel has the colours around the wrong way.
A prototype perhaps? Not sure about this one. Picked this up from eBay a while back. PI spec as it's made from Sportswool and is longsleeved. The number and the stitching consistent with a couple of Magpie PI jumpers I have from that period, but the front panel has the colours around the wrong way.
It's weird, these 20-year jumpers are super rare, but "wear white on the night" jumpers from the year before were pretty easy to get hold of. Maybe the club or ISC worked out they produced too many and made just what was required the year after.Wow, that Fyfe jumper is amazing- I am super jealous! Those 20-year jumpers seem pretty rare too in general, as not only is it a one-off design but also the club only auctioned off the 22 that were worn in the game.
James Hawksley wore #12 for Brisbane in 2007. He played one preseason match.I have see it, I'm not sure why it's being offered as the price it is because it's only a PI and not a game worn or signed jumper. Plus, according to AFLTables.com there was no player that wore #12 for the Lions in 2007. I guess ultimately it's worth what a buyer will pay for it!
I do have a similar one with the Fitzroy Lion (not the logo) that has #4 on it (Tavis Johnstone). I got that for a much more reasonable price
Damn man I'm so jealous! Ricky is a good mate of mine and he had to sell off all his jerseys so he has none from his playing days! Always wanted one of these onesPicked up one of my Wildcats 'whales' on the weekend...
1994 Ricky Grace jersey:
The Swan Gold logo changes at some point during the year, so I'm stoked to now have both versions of the jersey.
The singlet below is the one the Wildcats wore for the latter part of the season:
