Why should I apologise?
Because Judd was a success?
I dont think so, your club is still in dier need of young key position players.
Jackovich,McIntosh and Wilson really only have a few years left in them and apart from wilson, what other viable key forward do you have.
Ill stand by my comments as at the time and even now they were accurate.
yeah we are in dier need of key position players. and we just won a premiership!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am I the only one here who is satisfied? Whilst I am somewhat disappointed we didn't get Polak, I understand that we had to get the best available. This is where the Eagles have fallen down in recent years - picking players to play specific positions.

I firmly believe that this team has to built from the mid-field out. There are three reasons for this:

1) Mosts games are won and lost in the midfield. Although the Eagles mid-field has potential, it was thrashed by most other teams. No point in wasting this potential. Chris Judd could well be that last cog that makes the Eagles mid-fields one of the best.

2) Cousins needs support in the mid-field. Support in the mid-field will make his leadership duties much easier.

3) Once the mid-field is strong, the rest of the team should start fitting into place - other players will start to step up.

Remember, if we got Polak, we wouldn't have Judd.

Quite prophetic of you.:thumbsu:

Cox: and Simmonds are on the same level, adequate ruckman at best that will never take the competition by storm.

Embly: like another supporter on this site pointed out plays one good game every 5 and is a passenger the rest.Hardly a player to hang your hat on.

Gardiner: Granted a very good key position player

Gasper: Nothing special and is constantly talked up by his eagle supporters

Glass: Solid defender that has shocking kicking skills, though I rate him as your second best key position player.

Hansen,hunter:hacks

McDougal:Yet to play a game and is on track to never play a game.

Seaby: Hasnt playe a game

Tuckey:Collingwood reject.

Ok so for younger key position players, ranking wise.
Gardiner-Daylight-Glass,Gasper,Embly,Cox.

Looks a pretty weak list as far as YOUNG key position players go.
Jacko and Macca still proping this side up.
Wilson is famous for his second half of the season fade outs.

Well thank you macca you just concerned my beliefs that the eagles would have been better served drafting a key position player.
Not to mention Judd is from over east.

You should have stopped at the initial post.

Out of the players that you list as average or hacks two are no AA (one dual AA) one is Norm Smith medalist whilst Seaby and Hunter would probably be starts in any other team. :)

Some old posts can be very fun reading material and this is one of the best.

Congrats getting it right on McDougall (well sort of as he has played 30 odd games).

Funny thing is that even Simmonds gets called average and he was probably second or third best performing ruckman this season.

Its amazing how time can make fools out of all of us.

6 years on this site I have made some pretty big calls.

This one didnt turn out as planned....Though its funny how my comments about McDougall being the biggest waste of a top 5 pick arnt brought back up.
I was right on the money there.

Yeah you got like one right out of about 20 :D

I loved your comments on Cox. Average player who would never take the competition by storm. LOL.... 2 AA's later and the best ruckman in the comp who in fact, actually did take the league by storm when Gardiner went down.

And your excellent predictions on Hunter and Hansen - Hacks. Hehehe... Premiership players is more likely.

And well, we'll leave the Judd/Polak think alone cos thats just a shocker :D

Amusing reading though.

hehe is a funny read.

A few bad predictions... but hey it happens. Reading Bigfooty would be boring if nobody made predictions... or the ones that did where always right.

Ahh how things have changed since 2001

2002 = The return of Woosha & the arrival of the Juddy

4 years down the track = 2006 Premiers

lol yeah.

The irony is that we are flush with KPP's and now we need midfieders like Judd but we cant win a premiership.

Qulaity Mids are more important than KPP's.
I'm not sure that Carlton and Richmond would agree with that.
