Think its a ridiculously big call but i do believe Trac is the one we need to take the next step to become our elite game breaking star. I think next year he will take games apart but not quite yet ready to do it week in week out.

Winning % = 77.78
Winning margins against bottom 7 teams = 35, 33, 73, 63, 46, 32, 2
Points scored against bottom 7 teams = 904 (100.4 average)
Points scored by bottom 7 teams against MFC = 653 (72.6 average)

My theory with a rebuild, improvement and so forth, is that you win the close games you lost the year prior.

For example
2014 - 4 Wins, Lost three close games. Lost to the Dogs by 6pts, Port Adelaide by 3pts and Gold Coast by 8pts
2015 - 7 Wins, Lost three close games .Lost to the Saints by 2pts, Essendon by 9pts, and QB which we lost a grip on and lost by 25pts
2016 - 10 Wins, Lost two close ones .Lost to Norf by 5pts, and Lost to WCE by 6pts

2017 - 12 Wins, . Freo by 2pts, Hawthorn by 3pts and Norf by 4pts

No offence but this isn't really much of a theory losing three games by less than a goal to bottom sides is as much luck as it is skill. All we need is to have the same year next year with like 1% more luck and we could finish top 4. Not to mention an injury free run would be nice.

Yeah same. If we lose to them again, I can see that sort of game biting us on the a** later on in the season. We saw this year that the games we lost to North (twice), Hawthorn, Freo & Collingwood were games which we were favoured to win and they were contributing factors to us missing finals. Every moment counts for us and if we improve our consistency against the sides below us then that would be great. I do think we will improve our consistency as a whole next season and in particular the games in which we are favoured to win.

It sounds ridiculous but considering how hard our last 11 is we almost NEED to be 9-2 to be a decent chance at just making the 8. I can see some (Including myself) melting hard if we have a losing record after the first couple months.

True but on the other hand we played well against top 8 sides this year. It'll be an intense season

It's important we have a good start to next season, particularly in the first half of the year. I've got pretty high expectations for us and think we can win between 14-15 games. We're not too far away from the top sides of this year I reckon. If it's a pretty even year again and the gap between the top teams and bottom teams gets narrower, I can see us making top 4 with 15 wins which is what happened this year.
