I've had enough of all of these kents already.

Nothing would satisfy me more right now than drafting H.Reid and watch him kick a bag against the tin-rattlers.

And anyone else wanting to entertain splitting the pick in this massively compromised draft needs to give themselves an uppercut as well.

2,14 and their future 19,20 I would take for 1 and 39. Go to the draft with 2,14,20,34 and 53.

Otherwise just keep pick 1. The above is well overs but not to the point of bigfooty ridiculous, just AFL level ridiculous.

North still have 1, 19, 39,40 and whatever compo pick they have. They could very likely buy 29 off of GC on the night for 39,40.
Tell them to bundle 14 19 20 for something. Oh wait nobody wants those shit picks

Except maybe GCS who just want points. Even pick 6 wouldn't take it.

Pick 19 was our pick already

Only worth it if the club takes McKercher and not Curtin, imo. Plenty of talls to load up on at those later picks, which is exactly why North shouldn't even consider trading.

We are already in prime position to get Finn O Sullivan next year.

Reid + Finn O Sullivan >>>> Finn O Sullivan and mckercher + Murphy or whatever.

We aren't even picking up Sanders with 14

Oh I'm not advocating a trade, I'm firmly in the Reid camp.

I'm just stating it could make sense from a list management perspective to get the best pure midfielder this draft and then load up on talls. Another mid next year and we're pretty much set, outside trades for positional needs.

I think 2 and 3 for 1 and 19 is the offer that we'll have to get our heads around. I'm not sure if I'd do it but think thats what it will boil down to.
If the Roos chase pick 4 from the suns and use the a combination of the picks given to them and receive pick 3 for Mckay it would leave them with 2,3,5 & 15.
It doesn’t have to be pick 2&3 could be a number of combinations.

3,5 & 15 would be my preference over 2 & 3. I don’t care if we get Curtin personally.

1. Reid
2. Curtin
3.Eagles
4.Hawks
5.Eagles

Would Nth do that deal only time will tell. Nth posters will laugh and say no way but it will all come down to how much Clarko wants Reid and what the Eagles will hold out for, I don’t buy the Nth posters narrative that the Eagles are big on Curtin and will only do a deal if we can secure him.

Be funny as shit if we ended up with both McKercher and Sanders.

You think it is worth giving up Reid for what will end up as 3 picks in the 20's? We don't have a great strike rate with 2nd rounders to begin with, what's the point?

Secure McKercher and then the 3 talls I would want in this draft whilst giving the club 19 and 20 next year. (the final pick would be if the last tall or small forward I rate slides or pass)

I’m more keen for us to chase a pick in the 8-15 range (using 20 + F2nd maybe plus something else depending on how high in that range it is). Then we could get Sanders, O’Sullivan or Murphy.

Reid + Sanders would add to a well rounded mid group. If not it is Reid + the KPD we need.

Do you see Logan Morris as one of those potential talls and if so, where would you pick him? I see him as a moneyball option that will go way lower than a Caddy type, just like I see Delean as someone who will go lower than he should. Any other talls you'd want into the 15-25 range if you had those picks?

I really can't put all the names out there. I think lower for Morris and if Delean slides he would be someone I would draft on talent and potential over one of the later talls.

Morris has slipped from 15/16 at the start of year to mid 30’s in most rankings, not sure why, has had a decent year in the Coates League. There’s every chance he may be overlooked, lots of players have come on throughout the year and in particular the finals series around the country. As I’ve mentioned before he is at that awkward height without a point of difference with regards to speed and endurance. I’m hoping he gets a chance because he can play a bit, wether he can develop into a AFL player is another story. Caddy is the man you want with huge upside or a possible Riley Weatherill as a smokey.

Curtin is nowhere near pick 2.

His pick 6 at best. That's the problem with this and makes it a huge risk for us.
For hypothetical sake we had pick 2. We absolutely don't want Curtin for pick 2. It would be McKercher and pick 3 would be too much a risk to go all in. McKercher will 100% be called out at pick 2 is how I feel.

Leaves us with Curtin probably at pick 3 which we are taking a fall for as his pick 6 honestly going by talent and pick 5 is an issue for us because Duursma and Sanders Watson who we know his issues already flight risk. probably falls to 5 depending who Hawks takes.

The question in this. Curtin and Sanders for Reid.

I'd say no because I feel Sanders would want a trade to Tasmania down the line and that itself ain't close to pick 1 worthy in Reid who I think would have a long career with us and then there's Curtin who I'm just not seeing it with him. I've seen him a lot of what his done and I really think his a huge risk at anything in the top 5. Pick 6 is where his truely at in the draft. Could be great or could be bust. His long term prospect. Won't see anything in 3 years minimum.

I’m reluctant to trade pick 1 for all the reasons posters have mentioned however I remain open to doing so if an outstanding offer is made

As to what classes as an outstanding offer I posted some time ago that what Bigfooty posters consider outstanding is unlikely to match a real world outstanding offer that would tempt West Coast

What WCE_phil has posted above is closer to what would be considered outstanding in AFL circles. It’s a lot to give up for one, as yet unproven, player

It isn’t particularly exciting in the way 2,3 & 5 is but it’s more realistic. Going into next years draft with our picks 1-4 and 21-24 range plus 19&20 would give us a strong hand and 2,14,20,34 this year could work although I’d prefer something a bit before 14 if possible

Still think I take Reid though as I’m not convinced we’d draft McKercher with 2

Not even the media is talking about Reid being a flight risk anymore.

No need to trade, never has been.

Just take the best kid available which just so happens to be the best kid available full stop.
