I've had enough of all of these kents already.

Nothing would satisfy me more right now than drafting H.Reid and watch him kick a bag against the tin-rattlers.

And anyone else wanting to entertain splitting the pick in this massively compromised draft needs to give themselves an uppercut as well.

Not sure if it's the greatest result for North either. They need KPP's and if McKay goes holding pick 1 and they might not get pick 2. If they trade out pick 1 they miss out on Curtin. Unless they can get O'Sullivan I guess..

The more I think about it I think Eagles wanted Curtin all along. Reid was never in our plans

We have always been scared of the go home factor and once again this proves that we are still falling for any Vic Media spin to the detriment of the club.
What's done is done and Curtin looks dead set now an Eagle. There's a bit of relief now because I've been so sick of wanting us to lose. Frustrating watching us like that so at least next week we can go all in and I can truely get behind them for Shuey and Hurns last game. Let's smash the Crows.

We might aswell change the thread title to the need for Curtin as a Midfielder. If anything it's probally good that North been tanking and playing games. They desperately wanted Curtin and now won't get the key they wanted.

But he falls into our lap now I guess. Might aswell. I like his size but it would be nice to turn him into a midfielder over being a key defender. If we do that he might actually be a Bont sized midfielder.
Could be really good. I don't like him playing defence though. Doesn't suit our needs at all.

This is paranoid stuff.

The club can make its own assessments on players and likely has better information than the media in respect to Reids willingness to move.

Trolling? No. I'm pissed that we will almost surely miss out on Reid now and my only consolation is that I was right when nobody listened a couple of weeks ago that we were still a reasonable chance of winning another game.
I bet Seve Bradbury wasn't thinking he would be able to win a gold medal.

Of all Australia’s victories in the Olympic Games, undoubtedly the most bizarre was that of Steven Bradbury in the 1000m short-track speed skating final at the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Games. Bradbury, whose gold medal was the first ever won by an Australian at the Winter Olympics, was dubbed “the accidental hero” after his four rivals all collided, tumbled and sprawled around the ice, leaving him to skate alone past the finish line. This sensational scene marked the end of a career which had embraced four Olympics, an earlier bronze medal, much sacrifice, and some horrific injuries.

Oh s**t, I forgot about pick 19 as well.

Geez this gets worse and worse.
Fremantle can take Edwards and you can all rest easy.

OK so not WC pick before today's upset win .

Yeah it was - NM got a future 2nd & 3rd round priority pick last year that they had to trade for players. So pick 19 went to 21 and 20 & 21 moved up one after the WCE win.

Ditto our pick 38 became 40, 39->38, 40->39.

So atm rounds 2 & 3 this draft has 19 picks.

Say what you will about picking a ruck we probably don't need, the value of getting the clear best ruck in the draft for pick 19 is still good business.

Get him, develop him and trade him or Bailey for a premium in future if need be. Jamieson sucks and will be gone in a couple. Jury is out on Harry.

Prefer Edwards to Mcginnity MKII Thilstrop with that pick personally.

What gave you any form of confidence WCE would actually win another game after the season we've had?

I really hope you don't gamble. Confirmation bias is not a reliable strategy.
luckily i bet heavily on north to win the spoon a few weeks ago as a consolation prize. not going to lie it only lessens the sting somewhat.

I think Jamieson could still develop nicely

Gotta be honest, he needs a lot of developing to become a nice player.

People, me included, were saying the same about Bailey Williams this time last year

Curtin moves like Bont in the 3 minutes of highlights I’ve seen since we lost Reid
Curtin will start as a defender. Whether he has the potential to be a Pavlich and move up the ground at some stage will depend on probably the Eagles needs assuming we draft him. I reckon Pav had a yard of pace on Curtin but will be interesting to compare the combine results.

So...

1: Reid (NM)
2: Walter (GC) afterbid by NM
3: Curtin (NM)
4: McKercher? (WCE)
McKercher looks like a REALLY good player. But the AFL will absolutely help get him home when Tassie enters the comp.

Play in Perth, in warm weather, in front of massive crowds?

Or

Play in windy Hobart, in the freezing cold, in front of an ok crowd whilst getting pumped every single game?

I agree. But money can and will talk.
