omg yes!Since my post is game themed, the 90s was great for arcade game places like Time Zone (so much better than the 90% of prize machines that take up floor space today). Had quite a few Time Zone birthday parties - was amusing the amount of hangers on I had at school.... that would ditch me days later or once discovered they weren't invited would ditch me beforehand.
My fav Time Zone place was multi level, small yet large to me. Knox was massive!
halls!Yeah Woodroffe was good, although my favourite was Halls (could have been because of the pretty rainbow-type picture on the bottle though).

South Road Timezone used to do lock ins where you'd pay $20, all games were on freeplay midnight to 0600hrs and we'd spend hours playing that.
Woodroofe for the win
Sno Top! **** yes. That was awesomeour baseball club was sponsored by Woodroofe in the 80's, drank so much Sno Top and Big Sars, Woodies lemonade is perfect when you arent feeling well
getting a case full of Slades soft drink where you exchanged empty bottles for filled bottles and chose whichever flavours you wanted - taste great as well
Halls Fruita was the king of soft drink.
Great game, used to play it a bit with friends.Also played some card game called 500. My Mum taught me it but would not even know how to play it now.
We banned misere. Best decision ever.Playing 500 at lunchtime practically defined my working life during the 90's.
And dear lord was the cheating rife!
Add to that I learned how to thumb the bird in a shuffle so I could deal it into the kitty every time.
- Six Spades/C/D/H == I have the ace of Spades/C/D/H
- 6 No Trumps == I have multiple aces
- 6 Noeys == I have the bird
- Half a dozen S/C/D/Hearts == I have nothing but am hanging around to call closed misère next time round
- 7 Spades/C/D/H == I have the right bower
- Ahhh, 7 Spades/C/D/H == I have the left bower
Yep. Main difference is you deal out the entire deck.Is that similar to euchre? My grandma taught us that back in the day, I recall playing with the old blokes down the cricket club as a 10 year old. Don't think they were keen for me to participate early but once I took a few tricks I was accepted ha ha
this x10000000000000000000000000You would go to shops and buy the original milo bar. Compressed milo in a chocolate coating.
GOAT bar.
Bring it back ffs
One of those inexplicable fallacies in life why people are opposed to MSG. Causes mild headache if you are allergic, otherwise it tastes good and means you need less salt (which is bad for your heart) in the food. Indeed, modern foodies' obsession with 'umami' flavour - that's what MSG is, basically made from reducing down the umami flavours from mushrooms I think.The probably use less shite like MSG on them these days.
A lot of these of these 'go cheap' have been done since I was an adult. I'm sure there's some nostalgia attached to memories of foods as a kid, but there's no self-deception / rose coloured glasses on how for almost all packaged foods that have been around decades, that they aren't as good as they were. If I get decent biscuits, either made by the wife or bought at a small bakery or fair, then there are still one's out there that taste like they should. Just, unfortunately, not in stores these days.taste buds change as you get older as well - so not surprised you dont find things as enjoyable as you did when you were a kid (plus memories can be misleading to how good they really were or tasted)
you can be told how good/bad things are when you are a kid and you'll believe/agree with it - then you grow older and learn to think for yourself how things are better or worse than what you've always been told.
Which one was the one that was incredibly sweet? Whichever one it was, I remember having a few years ago, and that was definitely a case of changing taste buds from when a kid.![]()
Me at 12yo looking at Snow Drop and Sno Top bottles
Why did they get rid of them?You would go to shops and buy the original milo bar. Compressed milo in a chocolate coating.
GOAT bar.

You are looking at people who spent $10k a ticket to a regular season match purely for that moment. Probably aren't even fans of the sport. These would be the equivalent of Jordan's shot and the most important shots of the last decade and I can't see a phone in sight...Listen I know your not an idiot but I went on to make the commentary about the experience.
Ask those people in Salt Lake City about the shot and 80% would be able to close their eyes and describe Jordans movements and the feelings in the crowd etc
The people at LeBrons game would struggle to tell you if you took their phones off them
Violet Crumbles or Crunchie Bars?
