Well, let's look to the draw mate. ;)

18 games in Melbourne- Well that's a bit more than anyone else!

Yeah well that might be because we dont sell our home games like most other Melbourne clubs and we draw so those clubs who do sell home games against some struggling Vic clubs still request they host us in Melbourne, we are entitled to 11 games in Melbourne atleast, worst case scenario would be 17 games in Melbourne, wow would that 1 game make such a huge difference?

Hugshawks said:
15 games in MCG- Oh no! Only 15!

Yeah well we are keeping the competition afloat, we have a contract to ensure the MCC get some decent games, dont blame us they would rather 15 Pies games than the Hawks

Hugshawks said:
6 Friday Night Games- Compared to the Hawks one...right..

But how? Ch9 arent televising them, I thought only Eddie got us Friday Night matches? Oh thats right, the channels want the teams who rate and they cant really have Friday night football from Inbred country down south so that rules out quite a few of the Hawks games oh and get your facts right for onc,e its 5 games

4 Interstate Games- The least of any club.

Well actually the Bulldogs have the least Interstate away games of any club but no one seems to complain about that, njust the 3 away games and yet people whinge about our draw with 4 the average for Vic clubs

Hugshawks said:
This draw is disgusting. It's got bias written all over it. No team deserves to have such an advantage over the others. This fixture has become a complete and utter joke.

Actually I would say we dont have the easiest draw this season, that clearly belongs to the Bulldogs, we just have the AFL money making draw

Well being a Bulldog, and being in financial trouble on more than one occasion, Collingwood came to our aide. As much as I hate the team, yes, I would rather play them as our home game to make our club more financial.

As much as you all want to whine about it, for some strapped for cash clubs, we make oursleves a nice little fortune when we have them at our home game.

I know for a fact that teams in vic requested to play them. I also know that this year there was only one or two requests per team on the draw, and the rest was done without any hindrence.

If you want to blame ANYONE for their draw, blame the afl TV rights. As soon as 7 and 10 paid 750 for the tv rights, they were always going to ensure the biggest drawing crowd was going to be centre stage. Remember Eddie isn't involved in 7 or 10.

I just think some of you are barking (woof woof) up the wrong tree here. I'd rather see them play all these home games to help financially the rest of the melbourne clubs, than to see any of them fold.

yes they do draw a crowd an if it helps the dogs or the blues or any team at that why not , well said johnno's girl

thanks hawks hero's.

I just know being a doggy fan, they helped us out with money once or twice before. There are a couple of clubs in a little financial trouble, if they have to "use" collingwood to get them more money, then why not is what I say.

We will whip their arses when we play them of course, but think about the cash we drag in from our home game against them. As much as we hate it, their fans turn up, win lose or draw.

Well if it means we get to see you embarrass yourselves again in sept then it's all worth it hey? Something tells me you won't be there though. Just a hunch.

Oh is it, you're a true peanut iitb. It's that's what pushes your buttons mate then aren't the tigers glad to have supporters like you.

For the first time in ages.

We have had some shockers during the past 6 or 7 years. That was a result of being one of the best teams in the competition.

What do you want? Some concessions?

I'm really hoping the Hawks can step it up and make the 8 this year and play Collingwood. Then we'll destroy the soft bastards. Last interstate trip in Round 9 is a joke.

Anybody who plays them in the 1st week of the finals will be montys to win

Learning to read would be good

When you read all the posts in this subject the biggest sqealers are Bitchmond supporters. Borders on obsessive behaviour. Sqealing like a bunch of immature girls.

Good to read some intelligent posts from some club supporters who realise why it is done the way it is.

Have a cry sooks! Tough t***ies for you all. Perhaps if you actually had supporters who showed up win lose or draw and not just the fickle ones who only jump on the bandwago when you're winning, you might be able to convince the AFL to assist Melbourne based clubs with more attendance money by playing you. So until then STFU!

Mate, sorry to sound patronising, but it is in the AFL's and the welfare clubs of the world's interest to have Collingwood playing as much as possible at the 'G.

Reason?

"BUMS ON SEATS"

Bums on seats mean money in pockets, particularly for those that need it most.

Oh, and we do alright out of it too, financially.

I know you are a Saints supporter, but wouldnt you like the apparent "DREAM RUN" of the interstate clubs? I would give up my 18 victorian games a year for a "GENUINE HOME GROUND ADVANTAGE".

Fair dunkum. All you bloody fellow vic club supporters are aiming your sh1t at the wrong club.

Have a nice day.:)
It,s alright to be financial but the idea is to win flags. As they say , it,s no good being the richess bloke in the cemetry.

And this is why the Dogs are my 2nd favourite club :D

And I love the Richmond motto:

Better to be 9th than lose a final!

Classic

No, I think it's more a case of given the disparity in the respective fixtures/injury lists between the 2 sides this year, most would say ours was a far more commendable effort.

And at least when we get there we're going to give it a legitimate crack. Care to have a wager as to who's going to be in a better position to have a genuine chance at the flag in, say, 2008? No? Didn't think so. :p

Well, that certainly explains your performance in the first week of the finals then. :D

Absolutely correct. Still not bad for a team coming from 15th in 2005 to make the elimination final the next year.

We expect more next year.

I must admit the "Come on, we have at least won 1 flag in almost years" is wearing a bit thin...

And by the way you didn't just lose that final, you were comprehensively pumped
