has lurch offered an explanation yet on why he (or his office) stopped patterson from honouring an agreement to read a joint statement agreed to with josh burns?

an infantile low rent stunt more befitting of a university campaign than an opposition leader offering himself as the alternate pm
Yeah and he complains about others being divisive, whilst actively stopping a simple gesture that could unite

An insult to our intelligence

Just ban Parliament from debating anything that might make you look bad.

Unless im misreading things i really like this. The LNP were accused of gunning for women’s rights to a portion and Labor ran a pretty strong campaign that the LNP would overturn existing rights.

This gives voters and everyone else a clear understanding that there wont be any changes, a move that will take a lot of ammunition off the Labor party.

But their method of getting it off the table was to ban discussion of it in parliament for the period of this parliamentary term. I can see why some would find that problematic. As a political fix, it's faultless.

Im in VIC so im not fully across QLD politics but i was worried about what was coming out in the election campaign and im sure there are people in the QLD LNP that were pushing for change, this kind of shuts up all the factions and takes the wind out of the Labor parties attacks.

It doesn't speak much for party unity that MP's have been banned from discussing an issue that some will say is important to their constituents and it sets a pretty nasty precedent for banning anything else from discussion in Parliament that might politically inconvenient for the government.

All indications on her social and internet presence would indicate a created online identity. Happy to be proven otherwise.

And I'll cop the savvy whack when someone gets elected to government from either the left or right of both parties, not one or the other. The only person who gets the benefit of the doubt in her screed is Lydia Thorpe, who's never been elected to anything without party backing. I have issue with those who believe an institution has no right to exist while drawing a salary as a member of that very same institution.

my bad. the person is a journalist, but the name is a pen name. i’m surprised david milner agreed to that.

that said, still rate that journos political nous and writing style.

campaigners struggling to put food on the table and this dickhead's whining about a flag on a bridge.
The irony of the conservatives complaining about "woke lefties", when nobody really gives 2 f*cks about flags except for the conservatives trying to virtue signal that they have no virtues.

Playing to the " 2gb " crowd yet again.
