What would a Dutton Liberal leadership mean for the Liberals and the country?

Dutton as PM is an absolute certainty. And Australia needs the stable no BS government that he will provide.

Albo is just flopping around like a fish out of water. His voice referendum is proof that he can't read the room. The flight perks are just the cherry on top.
Funny that Dutto hasn't raised Albo's flights in parliament this week.....wonder why that would be especially from such a strong leader.

You already have stable govt your biases won’t let you see it. What was your stance on scomos religious discrimination bill?

who is surprised dutton has lasted this long as opposition leader. I don't understand how he is electable let alone a shot at being PM.
Because a lot of Australians are uneducated, politically ignorant and/or greedy and mean-spirited. I don't think Albo's much chop either but Dutton and the LNP are by far the greater of two evils.

A couple of months of full blown Trumpism in America prior to the election should find any sane person locally asking do we want the $2 shop version of that going on here.

Gina catching up with Elon post Trump victory.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Elon get X to favour Dutton come election time and it's goodbye Albo.
She put her 2 bob in talking to the media, as if we should listen to a greedy billionaire on looking after the low paid. Dutton also trying the cost of living/immigration angle like Trump did to justify getting elected. It's not even close to that for starters but watch the media drum up the fear mongering to get the message out there.

recall reading/hearing somewhere lurch spent a few weeks with the republican party machine in late 2023/early 2024

he would have sat in on high level discussions around campaign messaging/strategies/target demographics ...... expect lnps election pitch will focus heavily on immigration along with a number of heated culture war themes to provide colour for a conservative msm that feasts on cr@p like that (eg demonising non-christian minorities such as the trans community - lurch has apparently approached moira deeming to run on the liberal senate ticket)

we shall see soon enough

[edit] expect they will go hard after universities as well as part of a niche attack line against elites - watch this space

Albo is leading a perfectly competent vanilla government. Vanilla competence of course will het him nowhere.

we had a golden period from Hawke through to Howard but history says numpties are the norm

be that Holt to Fraser or Rudd to Albo

When we have numpties, we need vanilla. A Vanilla numpty is a champ compared to those that think they are a change for good manager (Rudd and Whitlam were examples of leaders who thought they were in the same league as Keating).

FYI - albo has been our best PM in 17 years

Neither Rudd or Whitlam wreaked the human wreckage that Keating's recession did.

Agree - but in this day and age of social media and instant gratification he is easy pickings

somehow think ‘thug’ would find a spot for him if he ever needed one.

Labor really need to run a campaign playing the Liberals words back to them and ask Australias "Is this who you are?"
  • Water lapping at the door
  • Anchor babies
  • Not safe to go out to dinner
  • Walk out of the apology
  • Au pairs
  • she's a mad ****ing witch'
  • 'special refugee intake of white South African farmers’
And that is just Dutton.

Will any of that resonate with the electorate? It's very clear the big issue next election will be cost of living.
