Okay Tashi... COLBERT? and the fact you couldn't finnish the bench and emergenceys is appauling, we have 28 players that could be top 25, even 22.

My Round 1 team for 2004 takes into account aquiring Jade Rawlings and Guerra, trading Dylan Smith, Dygby Morrell, John Baird :( and David Teague:

T.Makepeace S.Watt B.Rawlings
L.Colbert L.Brown J.Sinclair
C.Jones D.Harris D.Wells
D.Motlop D.Petrie S.Grant
B.Harvey J.Rawlings G.Archer
M.Porter A.Simpson A.Stevens
I/C: M.Stevens D.Hale J.Clayton D.King
Eme: B.Guerra H.McIntosh B.Robbins

This was so hard, with Grima and Urch both being involved later on in the year IMO. Also I think Shane Clayton needs to move on, not getting full oppertunities at North Melbourne... Would love to fit Guerra on but don't know him too well.

Ashle yWatson will also push for selection...

Petrie Dish, 4 talls in the starting backline?

thats just a general team, with kingy, guerra and rawlings on the bench i'm going by the theory that you can pick and mix the backline to suit the oppositions forward set up

i also think watson, firrito, urch and maybe grima will be pushing for senior selection in 2004, but i can't fit them into my first choice 25 at the moment. of course this is always gonna change with form and injuries etc. robbins is another of my faves but i can't see a midfield spot for him with younger players coming through

That sounds about right so far.

Solomon to St Kilda? What could the Saints offer? Black and/or Lawrence. Which does Essendon prefer, a lack of commitment or general average quality?

With Brown going I think it's a little too early to plan a bulldog side yet until it's more clear who's going to get him and whether we will go for picks or a player.

But why are Geelong supporters so keen on Pat Bowden? He's good, but given that he was our best performed tall forward and we've just lost our leading goalkicker, I'd be amazed if he ended up anywhere else.

b-Johno , presti, cloke
Hb- Clem, Wakes, Tarks
c- Stevens , bucks, Woey
Hf- Obree, Rocca, willo
F- Fraser, Tazz, Cole
R- Cox, lica, burns
i- King, R. Shaw, Davidson, lokan

its a little early to be doing this, could probably wait til trade week which is less than 2 weeks away, but here goes

B - Whelan Lamb Ward

HB - Bizzell Croad Heffernan

C - Yze Armstrong Johnstone

HF - Robertson Miller Sylvia

F - Vardy Neitz Green

R - White Bruce Stevens

I/C - Ferguson Jolly Godfrey McDonald

Emer - Brown Nicholson Carroll

I have a feeling we will give up pick 5 for Stevens, though i dont really want to. Also have a feeling will grab Croad and reinvent him at CHB, just like Bizzell

I'm happy that so many want Nick Stevens, I'd prefer that he stayed with Port, but cest la vie, he wanted to go back to his home environment, I respect that decision.

With so many wanting his services, Port should get a good deal out of the situation

I'll try to conjure up a Port team that will win finals

f/backs -- Wilson, Wakelin, Bishop
h/backs -- Wanganeen, Thurstans, Cassisi
centre -- James, Ebert, P. Burgoyne
h/forwards -- Pickett, Tredrea, C. Cornes
f/forwards -- S. Burgoyne, White, Dew

ruck -- Primus, Salopek, Francou

i/c -- Brogan, Carr, K. Cornes, Hall

emerg -- from -- Hardwick, Montgomery, Schofield, Lade, Cochrane, Poulton

I haven't included anyone we will get in the trade period, nor any new draftees, just blokes currently left on our list, taking into account Nick Stevens, Brent Guerra, Paul Koulouriotis and Adam Morgan all want to go home to Victoria, plus Paxman, Cockatoo-Collins and Kingsley will not be offered a new contract

No Scotty Thompson?

Armstrong traded for Croad. Change the name Croad to Polak and you'd be more accurate :D , Croad's value has nose dived in the last season, at most his worth a late second round pick.

Ha! Not even in the starting line-up? He may look unco, but in that team he would be a superstar. They don't hand out Rising Star nominations... or do they? Seriously, he'll be the CHB or CHF at the swans for the next 10 years.
