Unselfish 2 goal assists and a nice goal. Great run and turn with the flight intercept that caused a turnover and resulted in another goal. Not a bad effort. Great to see the boys slapping his back. It's obvious he's a talent. Let's hope he becomes another Swans recycled player success story.

Everitt BOG in the ressies (by one report) suggests that last spot is hotly contested. We may need that depth come finals

I almost want someone to get injured so that we can a look at these other prospects we have. :p

Spangher, Seaby, White, Morton, Everitt, TDL. I'd love to see 22 back to back games in these guys to see what they're made of. But I'm behind the coaches selections.

Listening to The Rub (MMM Podcast) couple of days ago, and they mentioned an anecdote where Cale Morton was talking to Mitch and mentioned something like "Mate, you must be hoping for an injury to be able to break into the team." Mitch replied "Nah mate, just really happy with how the boys are travelling and doing well. If I get my chance, I want to have earned it"

Cale couldn't believe that he was actually talking to Mitch!!

Loving his immersion in the Bloods culture, and really shows how Mitch has matured and taken real ownership of himself.

Guinness are getting in contact with him, they believe he's set a new record for using the phrase "play my role"

Post-game Morton interview

Don't agree that he took shots he shouldn't have. Everyone was missing snaps under that pressure;handballing it around doesn't particularly help - if you get a chance to snap, take it.

McVeigh game him a little bake in the last quarter for snapping rather than passing to him as he was running toward goal but having said that, if you didn't hit McVeigh on the tit, he gave you a bake no matter who you were! Morton was right to take the snap in my opinion as it was his first instinctive option with an open goal.

He also set up Jetta's second goal. He has now earned his spot in the team, I don't know how this Bloods culture works but it is definitely effective!

Glad he was out there today. Really contributed!
Totally agree. We have 3 good options up forward with him, Goodes and Reid.
He lead well, worked hard, and didn't try any stupid snaps.

It's funny looking at some earlier posts in this thread - writing him off etc.

I'm still cautious about him. I'd always believed in the motto "Never a Morton". Keep in mind, I was also of the opinion "Never a Jetta" and "Why did we draft Jetta?"

So yeah, good game yesterday, I'm encouraged but still reserving judgement.
OK - I see where you're coming from. One game doesn't make a player. Undoubted potential though.

I loved watching him play yesterday. Took some excellent grabs, obviously did well in the goal kicking stakes, and gave off a couple of assists that led to goals. It's great to have someone else down there who has the natural instincts of a forward. No disrespect to LRT, but he looked much more at home down back yesterday.
It is no disrespect cause he played an absolute blinder and unfortunately there is no room for him down there after Grundy comes back...
