Someone just said to me....

Ok, Hereditary is officially one of the most fcked up movies i've ever seen. a must-see for horror fans. that ones gonna stick with me for a while...and im a huge horror fan. wow.

So I guess I'm gonna look for it to watch. Hate when people say this about a movie (must-see, omg, never believe it) and then you watch it and it's "meh". But I'll keep falling for it :(

While IMDB'ing Hereditary, saw this in the recommendations....

Now This Is How You Make A Low Budget Movie
14 August 2018 | by Darkwalker173See all my reviews
I went into this movie having no clue what it was about and wasn't expecting much, but I loved it. There are innumerable movies with huge budgets that simply fall flat, and Upgrade, with a Budget of around $5,000,000, which doesn't cover the cost of catering on some of these huge budgeted flops, honestly looked like it cost a lot more than it actually did. Intelligent script, good action, very few unnecessary scenes, and though I thought it was sure to let me down, a very good ending. And although I have seen much of Logan Marshall-Green's work and was never a huge fan, he does a very good job here. Recommended.

A very long flight, so I watched:

Red Sparrow: brutally violent, good story, good cast, 6/10.

Death Wish: cartoonish violence, stupid by the numbers plot, wasted talent, 2/10.

Game Night: not very funny, Meth Damon absolutely steals film, 4/10.

Downsizing: interesting premise, good cast, 6/10.

The A-Team

a reprisal of the 1980s TV cult classic. Everytime i view this I realise more and more how perfect the casting was. Liam Neeson as respected leader Hannibal, Guardians of the Galaxys Bradley Cooper as the handsome ladykiller Face, the south african crazy guy as Murdoch, and Rampage as BA.

Good fun

The Social Network (2010)

Always really enjoyed this movie, but think I underrated it in my own standings to a degree due to the somewhat unfashionable subject matter. On repeat viewings it is becoming one of my favourite movies, the combination of David Fincher, Aaron Sorkin and Trent Reznor is ridiculously high calibre. Tense, tight and entertaining from start to finish. 9/10

Uncle Drew (2018)

So they take five retired basketball greats (Kyrie Irving, Shaq, Reggie Miller, Chris Webber, & Nate Robinson) dress them up to look like 70 year old men and have them play against 20 somethings in a tournament. Weird, I know. This made for black America film is a morality tale of getting over past mistakes, and making deeper connections with people, but the fact you see these "old" men running around like athletes really strains credibility. It was OK if you want something to watch that isn't hideous. But one viewing will be enough. 5/10

Just saw a preview of The Predator.

Dunno how I feel.

Loved the original... my favourite all time movie.

The preview made me think there is too much focus on humans in the story.

Dunno. Guess we'll see Sep 13th

I am with you - saw the preview and longed for the old movie. The big X factor is Shane black as director as his movies and scripts are usually tight and very entertaining.

Yeah keeping an open mind.

Nothing will beat the original with Arnie though

Pretty sure the focus of the first film was humans too. Movies like Predator succeed on 'less is more'. You don't want to see too much of the predator, you want him to come along at key points and take someone out. Looking forward to seeing what Shane Black can do.

Yeah i know. Thats sort of what i was trying to say.

Looks all new and shiney. Like how the first one is all grainy and dark in the jungle.

Im sure I'll still like it.
