Wind River

Thoroughly enjoyable and well structured, yet ultimately forgettable.
Amazes me just how readily people hand out 9 or 10 stars to a movie.
Don't get me wrong, this is good but not 'perfection' or 'classic' good. 6.5 / 10
Just because someone gives a movie you didn't like a 9, doesn't necessarily mean they hand them out willy nilly. Maybe they just liked it more than you.

Everyone has their own rating system and even our own system can change upon many variables, but 9 is edging towards perfection.
I can't speak for everyone but if Wind River is 9, then Hell or High Water may be a 10. Sicario? 11 maybe? :)

Just kidding as Wind River may be some peoples favourite movie of all time.
It's thoroughly enjoyable albeit just a little obvious and derivative.........say I. :)

Well I had:
Sicario - 7
Hell or High Water - 8
Wind River - 9
Each to their own. I simply enjoyed it more than the other two.

My point is; you aren't an authority of what gets what and trying to say so doesn't make you come off very well.

I would rate all three as 8/10. Just my opinion of course. But your mention of rating systems did make me think about that aspect. I created a thread that you might want to contribute to.

As regards Wind River, where would you rank it in the movies you've seen this year?

47 meters down - standard shark film fare. Two sisters get trapped in a shark cage after it drops from its winch. Average performances and and average premise result in an average film that is only made worse by a stupid *twist*. 3/10.

I love blade runner fwiw, but my wife watched it recently with me and fell asleep.

The Neverending Story (1984)
Such a classic love this film and still holds up

The Flight of The Navigator (1987)
Another movie I loved as a kid. Was reported a few days ago that they are going to do a remake for the love of god please do not destroy my child hood.

i love this movie, the remake has been in the works for years, looks like it got the green light, i wont watch the remake, they will just ruin the movie

IT- second viewing. More enjoyable than the first time- which was even in Gold Class. Here is why

1. Wasnt coughing and choking to death during this session
2. Dumb bitch in the back row wasnt there to completely ruin the first 20 mins due to over enthusiastic/loud chip packet rustling.
3. So therefore enjoyed the opening 20 mins a whole lot more and saw things i missed due to above bitch
4. 5 people in the cinema in total. Could hear a pin drop they were lovely, didnt utter a sound
5. It's IT.

:)

1. Tipping other people in the cinema were hoping.
2. Bionic hearing to hear that over the coughing.
3. Hate speech?
4. Surely they all received a flower.

Nice try but I wasn't coughing during the whole movie. In fact was silent for at least the first half.
Chip packet bitch however was not.
Also not to mention half the cinema was coughing as well due to illnesses going around at the time I guess.

Whatevs. Dunno why I'm even replying to this shit.

Cult of Chucky

It was alright, dug the little bits of fan service here and there (especially the cameo at the end!). Curse of Chucky was great going back to the horror roots, this one kind of veered it back to self parody Bride/Seed of Chucky territory and that doesn't really sit well with me (bride of Chucky was good, Seed of Chucky not so much!).

The last film I saw at the cinema was Dunkirk which I thought was OK but not as great as it was made out to be, Mark Rylance was the best thing about it.

The worst thing about it was my phone making this embarrassing loud beeping noise during one of the tensest scenes in the film, I switched my phone to mute so it wouldn't ring and normally it just vibrates if I get a text or call on mute but for some reason which it's never done before it started beeping.

I couldn't take it out of my pocket to see what the hell was going on as the noise would've been louder so I just kept it in my pocket to muffle the noise.

This beeping went on for longer than a ringtone too, it went on for a good few minutes which seemed like hours, even muffled other people could hear it.

Eventually to my relief it finally stopped but it ruined that scene for me and probably everyone else within earshot, totally took me out of 1940 Dunkirk.

It wasn't until I got out of the cinema I worked out what had happened, I must have somehow accidentally pocket dialed the Vodafone recharge number and the call got cut off so they tried to ring me back to see if I still wanted to recharge and being a Vodafone call it somehow overrode the mute function and started making this loud beeping noise which like I said has never happened before but of course happened for the only time when I was in a cinema.

I just thought I'd post that story to make Shell feel better about having a coughing fit in the cinema.
