They will challenge for the flag again in 09 and I would not be at all surprised to see them get back to back flags.

They are certainly good enough and can get better.

You might like to do a bit of fact checking here Phil. I could have sworn that Jeans was at the Saints for a very long time for only the one flag. I have an enormous amount of respect for Yabby, but he is not significantly more successful than Sheedy. At least with Yabby he left Hawthorn in a decent state, even if he didn't with the Saints and Richmond.

He came in with a plan, and martyred himself to whole football world with his diligence and belief in what he was doing for our club.

All the footy experts ridiculed him, but he never wavered.

What a revelation he has been. The Hawthorn Football Club has turned a fairly poor culture (from 1992-2003) into one of the the hardest and most unified club's in the competition.

They not only have a crack, they show immense discipline and work for each other.

They have no right to be 4 and 2. They are a bunch of kids only at the birth of their development. But they are.

This is what team-work and desire does.

The Senior players are loving their footy, the kids are disciplined, hard and tough.

All our kids including Buddy are talking like leaders years in advance of their age.

Even watching On The Couch the other night it was as if Walls and Sheehan were holding back. Couldn't say anything good, so kept it brief.

I love Clarko and I am so grateful he came to our club.

Best young coach since Worsfold.

Say what you like the truth is the Dwarf let you and the players down, what happened to were going back to back, best young side in the competition. Buddy and Roughy to both kick 100 in 2009.
Didn't even make the finals not a disgrace in my book just more proof the Dwarf,Bradbury'd the 2008.

Some may think it's over the top but for mine he is one of the best coaches of our generation. He completely changed the way the game was played with the cluster, which evolved into the forward press.
Smart, tough and his players love him. To think Malthouse took 10 years at the Pies for a flag, Bomber did the same at the cats and Clarko rolls in and gets a flag in no time and looks strongly placed for the future
