Will Brodie extends with Freo for 4 years. Good on him, important clearance machine in the West

Carlton fans finally have worked out who the real Jack Martin is

I feel sorry for him in a way.
His 2014-15-16-17 was a really promising start to his career - some annoying injuries somewhat interrupting.

In 2017 he kicked 24 goals with 18 possessions a game.
Outside of Ablett and Bennell, no other suns player has reach those parameters in a season before.

Just completely stagnated beyond that though, played with no confidence the rest of his career.
I'm sure our terrible team around that 2018 period didn't help.

Don't think he was ever going to be that gun that was slated, but a 'very good player' career just never eventuated most likely due to psychological factors rather than physical ability.

Could of turned out like Shai Bolton

Bowes started in defence, took the kick outs, got taken off the kick out duties.

Went into the guts, then went forward and shanked it.

Bowes missing a set shot for goal from about 15 metres out on a slight angle when it the scoreline was within 10 points late in the fourth quarter was a massive let off for Carlton. I won't say he cost Geelong a win but it certainly would have been interesting to see how it played out had Bowes kicked the goal.

Didn't step up when the Cats needed him. Like Rankine with the Crows last week.

Watching Bowes he appeared to me to be trying too hard
Makes sense. He wasn’t picked in the round 1 side and probably came in due to a few injuries.

Also, he might want to try and prove that he wasn’t just picked up by the Cats for that juicy pick 7…

Oh man
You're not actually comparing Jack "Cart Horse" Bowes with a superstar of the game
No-one at Adelaide was unhappy with Izak's game I promise you

If they turn him into a regular player at Geelong all power to them.
He is as Captain Blood Jack Dyer would say a good average player at his very best

Wow.Charlie Dixon has trimmed down.Half the gorilla he was.really slim through the waist. Will no doubt help his ankles

That's fine but the fact of the matter is they lost. The expectation now is for Izak to play well every week to justify his huge salary so as soon as he isn't living up those standards, they are going to smash him. We know Ranks isn't capable of playing footy like that for 22 games so the criticism is coming. Just a question of when.

As much as I want it to be a disaster for Adelaide... We don't know much about Ranks and his consistency. He's still a kid.

Just did nothing in that first quarter other give away a free kick and then a 50m penalty for chatting back to the ump which handed Richmond a goal. Literally has a -1 rating at the moment. If he keeps this up it's going to be a long week for him.
