I would leave us out of this one, don't know about the others, but we have an equal record sponsorship money deal (albeit on shorter years) and are financially secure thanks to generous supporters.

Funny thing is that Scully leaving for GWS might end being seen as a very good thing for Melbourne.

Going forward they may have lost either Scully or Trengrove for no or little reward to a big Melbourne or one of the SA clubs. Instead they got some draft picks, Scully went to a side which should not hurt Melbourne and Melbourne save a lot of cap room in the future by not signing Scully meaning they can resign any boys who they want in the future or go for someone in free agency if they want.

For what it's worth, I think Melb have have some relatively good talent coming through - Howe, Gysberts etc.

Freo similarly win out of the Palmer pick up. Conversely WB probably did not do as well with Callan Ward because they are an older side and need some youth going forward so Callan Ward's loss may offset any cap space advantage.

It will take a lot for them to win a flag though.
